I believe it could, depends on how long you drown him if his brain stops functioning for enough time the body would decompose enough to have him killed permanently, but we are talking about wolverine, that would take at least a weak to drown kill him defenly

I think the writers have taken the healing factor plot twist too far. as shown in Days Of Future Past Logan gets vaporized by a Sentinel and doesn't come back to life. in the Wolverine - Civil War tie in he's vaporized down to his skeleton by Nitro along with a bunch of SHEILD agents and he grows back. but it appears that they're trying to address this in the last issue of Wolverine - supposedly his incredibly heightened regeneration powers were supernatural in nature but that is over due to a deal he made with Azrael the Angel of Death. now if he gets a really bad mortal wound he ain't coming back. I'm sure they'll fudge it up again.

crap... I sound like the Comic Book Guy on the Simpsons... worst issue ever.

how'd he survive?he's muthaf***in Wolverine.j/k I dunno he sure can take some abuse though,as far as deadpool he does have a regenative healing factor but I doubt it goes to the extent of Wolverine and cause his skeleton isnt coated with adamantium

The sword he used to kill sabretooth, I forget the name but cyclops looks after it for him incase he goes beserker. His healing factor can't heal wounds made by that sword.

muramasa blade!

Ultimate wolverine got ripped in two by The Ult Hulk

He survived but wouldn't have if the parts weren't joined together for them to regrow

But usually in other universes (except the Age of Apocalypse one) - if wolverines brain doesn't die his healing factor can heal any mortal wound

hes been reduced to practically a skeleton and he still grows his shiznit back

bad writing aside - its canon - so its the accepted way now - so don't nanny naysay - as it aint going to change things

Only chracter I know that can totally regenerate from a single drop of blood - is Lobo - but hes lost that ability thank god

This sounds like the same conversation about "How to kill The Wolfman" from The Monster Squad:

All right hotshot: how many ways are there to kill a Werewolf?

Would an accident with power tools do it?

What about falling out of a window – onto a bomb?

Isn’t a silver bullet the only way?

But he's not an X-Men villain?

Oh wait... do you mean Castle as in Frank?

If so, don't mind me.

Seriously?! Oh brother.

My opinion, but that's what I call bad writing.

I agree. Just to rediculas, even for the X-Men. But, Jean Gray has returned from the dead how many times? I don't think they even bother throwing her stuff out of the Mansion anymore.

As long as his brain survies, he can heal from nearly any injury. He survived a close range blast from a suped up Nitro which reduced him to a skeleton, but his brain was saved by his adimantium skull. It was also recently revieled that each time he "dies" he engages the angle of death Azeral in combat to come back to life. Each time he loses a loved one, his will to live and will to survive drops. If he loses to Azeral, his body still lives, but it's in a vegitative state.

Different writers write his healing factor differently. One writer wanted to literally make him into regeneration man... ugh.

Another thing, Punisher shot him with an RPG, completely obliterating everything between his neck and thighs, and he STILL grew it all back, he regenerated his guts and everything, WTF!?

I actually found a web site were people have come up with ways to kill wolverine

Eh, no. He'd be toast. A single Sentinel blast vaporized him in Days of Future Past, leaving only an Adamantium skeleton. He's not "Regeneration Man". It's just an accelerated healing factor. As for the sun... even the Hulk would be toast if he were tossed into the sun.

I don't think shooting him off into the sun would work
I think he's actually been throw into the sun but he survived

I dunno, how many times has Wolvie and the Hulk tangled? They both basically just give up.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but even in World War Hulk when the hulk was at his angiest and strongest wolvie didn't bite it. I'm pretty sure wolvie got messed up pretty bad.

I think if they had put Wolvie into that ship and sent him into the sun we'd never see wolvie again...lol.

I got a feeling, give time, Prof X or another strong psychic could turn wolvies brain off and make him a vegie or something.

I really think hicks is right thr only way to stop him at least is to kill the brain, but the brain would have to be destroyed and not able to rebuild itself, and the only way to get through the admanium skull, is to pinch it closed, and I think one of the only guys who could do that would be the hulk

At one point drowning Wolvie was the only way, but that was many years ago and with all the changes that have taken place over the years who really knows.

Dump him in the vacuum of space should do it, boil him from the inside out.

And according to age of apocalypse story line Cyclps (I think it was) could blast off his hand, so theoretically he could have vaporized the whole body.

Drown him.

Kill the brian kill the man

But could his brain "heal" itself from oxygen depveration?

Beats me.

Well, what if they cut off his leg and then quickly hold it back in-place, would it "heal"? It's not regeneration because the leg is just attaching itself back onto the body, right? It's just torn muscles being put back together, and that happens naturally whenever a person lifts weights.

Decapitation or total dismemberment would work. He can't regrow limbs after all. He has a healing factor, not regeneration.

Remove his head from his body...No more Wolvie.
