Discrepancies in the Marvel Universe continuity?

Posted in Off Topic

My complains about Marvel messing with continuity!
1) I understand A lot of fans are up in arms about the whole Spidey OMD plot.
Understandable since A) Doesn't Pete have a daughter to Mary Jane in the future B) EarthX he has a daughter to her also.

2) Captain America is dead? Then explain about A) He has a daughter in the future and B) Earth X he's still alive?

Yes, I just reread my EarthX TPB's that have sat for about 5 years and one last thing I don't understand in the last say 15 years A) Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe never acknowledged the Micronauts even though they had 2 series.
B) Bug Is now in Annilation Conquest, but what about the other Micronauts?
C)the Micronauts were in Earth X
D) There was a Micronauts comic by another comic company a few years ago.
How does all this fit into continuity?

On the topic of Earth X They uncover that the cosmic cube is really a Skrull- Does that have anything to do with the skrull Secret invasion? Maybe thats how they are not detectable?

I bet fury knew about this invasion in the the begining somehow and knew that the leader of latveria " was not actually themselfs but some imposter trying to use latveria's super wepeons to cause ww3 so thats why fury attacked but only chosed a few heroes for the job in case someone was an imposter within the hero ranks plus erased their minds after so they could not be in terrorgated. it makes sense though the skrulls attacking earth with earths own wepeons. thankgoodness that fury's coming back in the "skrull invasion"

Don't get a tin can to do a Fury's job

people often ask me, why I still read comics. as a man in my early twenties, raising a family with my wife, three children, and a dead end job. they say I should have a lot better things to do. then I come to places like this, and see discussions like this. never in my life have I seen people put forth their ideas with so much passion, and even articulate phrasing. endless debate about the ethical treatment of superheroes, true comradery in the aid of one another, and rivalries that are truly harmless. and all about an entirely fictional universe. why would I bother with things like politics, where everyone lies and makes up whatever they think sounds good. this is the real world, and it ends with .com

Yoinked from Wiki as I can't be arsed right now to type it all out...

Returned to his post as S.H.I.E.L.D. director, Fury on his own enlisted the superheroes Captain America, Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Wolverine, Daredevil and the Black Widow to launch a covert assault on the leadership of Latveria, who were plotting a massive attack on the U.S. One year afterward, Latveria launched a counterattack that resulted in Fury's removal as S.H.I.E.L.D. commander, forcing him again into hiding with numerous international warrants out for his arrest. His successor as Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is first Maria Hill and then Tony Stark. Hill, keeping Fury's disappearance from the S.H.I.E.L.D. rank and file, has used Life Model Decoys to impersonate Fury on occasion.

actually I thought that Fury wasn't fired, he decided to go off grid because he figured out that something nasty was coming. Fury was in Captain America just about every issue up until issue 16. then during Civil War he was just talking to Spider-Woman and Winter Soldier and that was always by remote.

supposedly Secret War is the very beginning of the Skrull Infiltration. Bendis says there're clues to the Secret Invasion to be found in that story. it was the domino that set off Avengers Disassembled, HoM and Civil War. I've been meaning to pick it up but it's a rather expensive TPB.

Fury's not been seen since just before the Civil War, when he got fired from SHIELD and replaced by Stark.

I agree about the continuity problems, but I can also understand the problems it would cause. My real beef is continuity problems within book sects IE In astonishing X-men Cyclops is put into space but in another x-book hes leading the x-men in the mansion.
Symbiotes are taking over New York and the New Avengers are there to take them on, where o where are the mighty avengers oh yeah stll fighting Ultron. So I don't think it would be to much to ask to fix inner series problems

No, its just getting bigger & bigger and they just keep on getting deeper & deeper!

Besides this is just the Prologue to my Steve Rogers will return and it will be because of the cxosmic cube and I wanted to read what everyone else has noticed!

So C'mon Punstarr whats your beef with marvel???? What have you noticed that Marvel has done thats inconsistent? Readers wanna know!

My main beef is that Magneto could take over New York in X-Men issues past and in the Avengers it would be like it wasn't happening. Crossovers were an exception, but they weren't common. It's like the different titles exist in different universes.

Marvel has some superstar writers right now and Marvel's editorial staff is just letting them run wild regardless. it's kinda like in the 90's when they let superstar artists like Larsen, Liefield, Lee, etc, start writing the books - problem is those guys couldn't plot for sh!t - great art but terrible stories.

I love the new Captain America. which means that it won't last... they'll bring Steve Rogers back to life before too long.

Earth-X is set in on an alternate Earth, it is not the future of the Marvel Universe. Think of Earth-X like, well like it really is, a giant rip off of DC's Kingdom Come story. It depicts a future of the DC Universe, but not THE future. Marvel has said that the events of Earth-X are not canon.

I do not believe the Micronauts comic from the other company was canon for the Main Marvel U.
