Jarvis! Noooooo!!!!

I'm so sick of The Sentry.

It's not Steve!!!

Wolverine Origins; meh.

I'm so ready to give up on Ultimate X-Men.

Where the Hell is the next issue of Ultimates?! Why do I care?

final crisis number 7-

apparently it isn't possible for the DCU's big 7 to all be alive at the same time. for a while, barry allen and hal jordan were both dead, then hal comes back, and orin, the original aqua man dies, jonzz j'onzz dies, and barry allen comes back, now bruce wyane is dead, and the original aqua man is back...

yeah, I really enjoyed dark avengers. even after what a let down secret invasion was (not entirely, but still slightly disappointing) I have to give it to Brian Bendis, he's got some talent. I also really liked mighty avengers. the new roster looks promising... as long as they get rid of USAgent soon not a big fan of him. final crisis is getting pretty confusing... but my comics store owner guy put it simply for me:

batman is the barry allen of final crisis.

I'd say that sums it up pretty good. right? no ones will remember the actual crisis, and people will just think he bit it during RIP. and then there'll be someone else under the cowl. crazy...

Dark Avengers was pretty interesting wanna see how it'll be in the long run

Ultimatum was pretty good the ending was f**king insane, damn Magneto definetley out for blood.

Old Man Logan was beautiful,I can't believe Wolverine would do such a thing.

I kinda dig final crisis... although there is a lot of confusing stuff about the plot, and I was upset that j.g. jones isn't doing all of the interior, it's still a crisis, and therefore I feel obligated to buy it. titan's was ok... and yeah, wally's still the flash for now. I can't wait to see ethan van sciver's new character designs for him. flash: rebirth will be awesome. oh! and I got the last two issues of thunderbolts. I enjoyed it. I'll probably stay on with it. although I have bad luck in the sense that whenever I get on with new titles... the roster changes drastically...

and have you guys heard about superman: secret origin? I'll be getting that. I got green lantern: secret origin, and it was pretty good. the HC of that just came out. I highly recommend it.

I thought it was kinda weak. love the way Bats and Darkseid sit and chat about how they will waste each other before doing it.

Final Crisis #6 - total over the top insanity in DCU. I hate Morrison's writing. I picked this issue up because of the Batman hoop-lah and figured if it hooked me I'd but the TPB collection. I'm safely unhooked.

Nightwing - pretty cool and very nice art. plus it had Ra's al Ghul, the coolest Batman villian ever. is Ra's testing Nightwing to see that he is a worthy successor?

Solomon Grundy - interesting. must make sure that if I have a fatal violent death it is near a swamp so that I will come back to life as a swamp monster. worked for Sallis, Holland and Gold.

Titans - wondering where Winick is going with this? Jericho; good, bad or misunderstood? the possessor possessed? and is this story post Final Crisis? cuz Wally is Flash...

no Marvel for me this week cuz I dropped Deadpool. Way just doesn't write DP as well as Fabian did.

and do you think there will be a new JLA book after final crisis is over? that's usually when the league breaks up then forms a new roster. in fact, I think that's happend after EVERY crisis in the DCU...

huh. yeah, I dunno about morrison on batman... but final crisis is KILLER! although I wish they'd make more effort to tie it in to the rest of the DCU... jeez... and have you guys been reading titans? I got on at issue 5, so I need to do some searching for those back issues... I love searching for back issues

I agree about Robin and Nightwing; those are 2 of my favorite current books. will be interesting to see if DC actually has someone become the new Batman or if they will have Bruce come back before there is a successor. if there is one it should obviously be Dick.

I think I read that Dini will be taking over writing on Batman when it starts up again. I hope. anybody but Morrison.

and as long as Bendis is writing Avengers titles I'll be getting them. even with Pym as the new Wasp and Jocasta the hot 'bot.

I dunno... I was getting bored with the mighty avengers during SI. and jocasta? hank pym as the wasp? I'll have to see. I did hear about robin going on hiatus,(which I've been thoroughly enjoying, and was bummed to hear that) but I didn't know about detective, batman and nightwing. that kinda blows... I'm also pissed that batman and the outsiders is turning in to just "outsiders". at least black lightning is back and how they tie the creeper in will be interesting.

why would you drop Mighty Avengers? I think the Avengers titles are some of the best books Marvel is putting out. especially since you're gonna get Dark Avengers. you know Mighty, New and Dark are all gonna tie together.

do you know that Detective is going on a hiatus for 2 or 3 months during the Battle For The Cowl story? so is Batman. Robin and Nightwing are going to be cancelled in Feb. my guess is that when the BFTC story ends there will be a new Nightwing and a new Robin along with a new Batman.

I have liked Dini's stories in Detective a whole lot more than Morrison's work on Batman. at least Dini's stuff makes sense.

I haven't taken the plunge into the Marvel Cosmic Soap Opera yet. was thinking about picking up the first Annihilation TPB to see if I like it.

Right now I'm psyched for the "War of the Kings" Marvel cosmic event. So far the Marvel Cosmic books have meshed really well together and this War of the Kings Inhumans one shot... really... really... REALLY got me pumped for this Kree/Shi'ar showdown.

oh, I though extremis itself crashed within tony's like, biological system. huh...

a fall of the sentry story would be interesting... maybe that's what bendis was hinting at when he had sentry's wife tell tony to kill him...

yes, my local store owner is a criminal in more that one ways...

I want to drop:

x-force
cabal
mighty avengers
trinity

I'd like to start getting:

dark avengers
most of the faces of evil tie-ins
detective comics
avatar
Buzzy Fret -
Friday, January 9, 2009
well technically Tony is still Extremis, it's just that his armor was infected with a Skrull virus. I've been reading Iron Man in TPB form. picking them up whenever I see them for a good deal.

Sentry... wtf? I hate that Marvel is trying to make him into their "Superman". I don't even really like Superman. I guess the one saving grace that makes him slightly interesting is that he's very flawed with a fragile psyche. he'll be the new "Dark Phoenix" at some point when he goes off the deep end and the MU will have to band together to put him down.

you bought KickAss? your LCS owner should be fined for selling porn to a minor!

so here is a question for y'all: what titles are you considering dropping?

I'm dropping

X-Force
Deadpool
Immortal Iron Fist
Vigilante (I know it's only been one issue, but he's a weak character)

with comics being $3 a pop I gotta stick to stuff that really interests me. and I bet it won't be long before they're $3.50. sheesh, I remember when they only went up by .10 cents a year. but then I'm old...

yeah, I really liked that punisher comic! although I'm not so sure about sentry's new heat vision...

and did what do you guys think about the new non-exretmis ironman???

and black lightning: year one? I didn't like how they used jeff's wife as the main narrator... and when are we gonna see him in costume???

and hey! I didn't get any gory warewolf comics... but I did score kickass #5!! THAT has some seriously mature content!!! hahahaha

let's revive this thread! bring on your comic reviews!

Dead of Night: Werewolf By Night - MAX reimagining of one of my most beloved comic characters! gory! foul language! totally different origin! Chancellor isn't old enough to buy it! not sure if I like it yet... didn't hate it though.

Punisher: outwits Sentry. how hard could that be?

Terror Titans: me love Ravager.

Detective: now Hush looks like Bruce. is there nothing Tommy Elliot won't stoop too? yawn.

Kull: never, ever pictured Brule the Spear Slayer with dreads. somebody at Dark Horse is trying too hard to make it different from Conan.

I picked me up some comic books today and I've got to say I'm pretty happy with what I've read

Wolverine Origin:I'm a bit late into the series, picked up a few cause they has wolverine and daken on em,thought it was pretty good.Original Sin:Prologue was pretty cool.

Wolverine Old Man Logan:the art itself is amazing.old man logan is jus bad ass.
also I finally finished reading What If? Spider-Man vs Wolverine.I thought it was pretty boring.I got maybe two chuckles from it.

I'm updating this thread cause I really don't have anyone else to blurb about comics to. the owner of my favorite comic shop, like, doesn't like me anymore...

so,
I picked up the new flash book, cause it's the beginning of a new arc, and it was ok.
trinity is starting to heat up, bagley seems to have cleaned up his act and is finally putting out his best.
mighty avengers was... as usual, A FILLER. and is it just me, or is brian micheal bendis, the worst swearer in comics...?

I typoed - I got Ultimates 3 #4.

I picked up both Mighty & New Avengers... they're OK... the backstory Bendis is spinning is getting a little thick though. I don't see how he's gonna resolve this without some big plot holes.

Hey maybe when this is all said and done they'll combine the Avengers' titles into The Mighty New Avengers....

What? What?

and final crisis #2 was... confusing. but what DC book isn't? hopefully it'll help that I just got all 4 52 GNs. lots of reading to do!

Big Marvel Week! But first something completely different;

Conan The Cimmerian #0 - Can't wait for more! I love Giorello's art!

New Avengers #42 & Mighty Avengers #16 - Cripes, who isn't a Skrull?! I'm getting a little bored with these titles just filling in the backstory for the SI. It's getting more ponderous and convoluted than all of the X-Men history! I wish they would start moving the story along.

Captain America #39 - Still love it but wishing Brubaker would pick up the pace! The confrontation between New Cap and Fake Cap was kind of a let down. Needed to be more than the last 2 pages of the book! Next issue better be filled with them beating the hell outta each other with some BIG Kirby style splash pages! A man can dream can't he?!

Wolverine Origins #26 - Nothing new there but very happy that Dillon isn't drawing it anymore! He doesn't do superheroes very well. I think Dillon's style works better for stuff like the DC Vertigo titles.

Ultimates #3 - I know, I said I would drop it but it had Ka-Zar and Shanna in it! Was still disappointing. When are Marvel gonna blow up the Ultimate Universe? Not soon enough! This story blows. I think Loeb is stretching himself thin.

Immortal Iron Fist #16 - Slow. No Kung Fu Action in a Kung Fu comic. WTH? Although Danny did get it on with Misty Knight.

Wolverine First Class #4 - Yeah I read it! Wanna make something of it?! It reminds me of the old days of Marvel.

I read the TPB Punisher MAX series collections. I like doing that instead of reading individual issues.

They didn't waste Orion along with Manhunter did they?! I just saw an ad for Final Crisis in Detective that hinted that Martian Manhunter was gonna get done in!

I gotta drop War Journal and Ultimate X-Men.

Although I'm pleased to see that they are reprinting the original Punisher War Journal by Potts & Lee.

Buzzy Fret -
Thursday, May 22, 2008
I wish they would kill off old Bob - he's a sad and boring character. He's so pathetic that he's unlikable for me. Plus Sentry is just a bad imitation of Superman.

I'm so glad it wasn't Steve that the RS had in storage! Yes! I'm probably in the minority but I'd like to see Bucky go on as Cap for a long time. He's a much more interesting character than Steve Rogers.

Now they just gotta show that the Cap that came out of the Skrull ship in the Savage Land is really a Skrull and I'll be happy.

Oohhh and all the Skrull reveals in Mighty Avengers 14. Hoo-boy!

Yeah I think I'm done with Ultimate X-Men.

I thought I was finished with Moon Knight... just wasn't going anywhere. And then they pull me back in by having Werewolf By Night in issue 20! Blast them!!!
