Your Prized Possession

Posted in Off Topic

Post what you consider to be your prized possession that has to do with comics. Whether it be a signed comic book, a rare piece of art or an animation cell (not figures though, that could be a separate thread). We'd all like to see what the crowing achievements in everyone's collections are.

This is a near mint copy of Jubilee's first appearance signed by Marc Silvestri, my favorite comic book artist. Included is a signed drawing of Jubilee also by Silvestri. I have yet to get it framed but I will one day!

I have signed editions, I have #1's, I have deaths of characters and first appearances; yet despite it all, this is my favorite issue, laugh if you must:

It's because I'm the biggest Green Lantern fan you'll ever run across. And when that issue came out, it was just so unbelievably shocking! I just couldn't believe that Hal Jordan went nuts and destroyed the Corps. I was positive that by the end of the story it was going to be in an alternate reality, or some doppelganger, or something. But it wasn't, and after it was all said and done and the dust had settled, the Green Lantern Corps were no more.

I don't have a pic of it as its at my buddy's waiting to go on ebay but its a signed copy of x-men #1 from 1991 signed by stan lee. It's in a protective cover and has the documents. I had a ton of signed comics from teh Con in pittsburgh but got rid of them all. Silvestri is a really nice guy, he was at the Pitt con every year and signed a lot of my stuff.
