Eat This 90s Comic Haters

I couldn't agree more. Things were happening in the 90s that got you excited about comics. I also did a lot of my growing up in the 90s, so I was easier to influence. But so much memorable stuff from the 90s:

-Green Lantern Emerald Twilight & Zero Hour
-Death & Return of Superman
-Batman: Knightfall and Knightsend
-Spider-Man: Todd McFarlane
-Spider-Man: Clone Saga
-X-Men: Age of Apocalypse
-X-Men: Fatal Attractions
-X-Men & Marvel: Onslaught
-Marvel: Heroes Reborn (Nobody liked it then, but me, but everyone sure ate-up Ultimates, which was basically the same thing but in the next decade)
-DC: Armageddon 2001
-Flash: Terminal Velocity
-Morrison's JLA
-Kingdom Come
-Marvels
-Image Comics
-Dark Horse Comics

I could keep going and going. But all those stories had a huge impact on me as a comic fan.

I've thought about opening an 80s themed club or cafe wiht a classic shop that sells all sorts of things. I know Pittsburgh had a 70s one that was popular that was all 70s. I've been loading up on roms from the 80s and 90s systems.

yeah... I still live in the glory days though of the nes and super nes... I just keep adding to my collection... last arcade I saw I had to go to an amusement park and they had some old games I mean ones that predate asteroids.... somebody was actually going to open a comic shop/ mini arcade where I lived but it got shut down before it started and another hair dresser was opened instead

Yeah, arcades are sorely missed. I also remember that 7-11 carried a limited selection of comics and comic cards and used to have 1 or 2 arcades at a time in it. Now it is a thing of the past. I still have a local comic shop though, and I don't live in a big city.

It's because back then Arcade graphics kicked the crap out of home console graphics and gameplay, it was worth your money to play. Now, why would waste a quarter or 50 cents when you've got XBox 360 or Nintendo Wii at home already fully paid for, with just as good graphics and gameplay?

Our comic shops are still going. The owner of one died but one of his customers bought it and is running it. I hope he cleaned it out some. haven't been in since 2002, just not the same wihtout Benny behind the counter. We haven't had an arcade since like 1995. last one I saw is in downtown pittsburgh.

heh, I'm an only child too... can't say that I wasn't a tinsy bit spoiled when I was like 6, but by 9 I was paying for anything I bought through chores and my paper rout. and that's pretty much how it is now... plus some graduation money

You ever meet the guy? I hear he's okay now but he was a jerk at the cons I saw him at during the 90s. I spend most of the 90s collecting Marvel stuff, 200-300.00 a month (I'm an only child so my folks found a way to afford it). so to me the current way the marvel universe is makes no sense.

the simple and easy answer to why people liked ultimates and not heroes reborn is because rob liefeld was involved with it. he's also a big component of why a lot of people look down upon 90s comics.

I love the 90's issues (most of my collection is from the eighties and the 90's) yay rob liefeld and todd mcfarlane! Hey I just posted some issues of superman and issue zero of Youngblood in my trades! Yeah I have to admit the 90's were so cool.. and the fold out covers god those were amazing! Why can't covers be like that now
also just to say this the clone saga was freaking awesome
