appreciation for the new cap

Posted in Off Topic

I've been doing some catching up on the not to old but old cap stuff. see, I starting picking up ed brubakers cap title during it's civil war crossover, and have been with it since. but now because of all the reborn business and steve coming back, I figured I should catch up on the whole series. and wow, steve is the man, and a super awesome character... but I f ucking love bucky cap. he's a great update, and refreshing. I really hope he keeps the cap mantle. even if steve rodgers has returned.

***SPOILERS***

It's only the 1st out of 5 issues, so nothing is final yet. But it looks like they are bringing him back through time-travel. The Red Skull modified one of Dr. Doom's time platforms to "lock" Captain America in time when he was shot. Captain America is now experiencing moments of his life during WWII. We as readers still aren't sure if he is really appearing in these time period thanks to the time platform, or if he is having his life flash before his eyes.

what? no... that was a flash back. civil war: the confession, right? yeah, that whole scene was a flash back from before steve got shot.

at the end of Civil War they show Steve in a special lockup talking to Ironman after they faked his death.

yeah, and I meant that steve would NOT be cap, just a cripple.

I may have not been clear in my first post, sorry, I meant that Steve being in Reborn could be just a flashback, a clone, an alternate reality version, or any number of things comics use that aren't the real deal.

I think steve's gonna come back, but he'll be like, just a cripple... and and be cap again. and yeah, comics can be pretty d@mn predictable some times.

He's not back yet, and from Brubaker's attitude about it (he and Quesada have said over and over again that they don't have plans for Steve to return), don't count on Steve Rogers returning for good. All we know for sure is the gun, and that Steve will appear in Reborn. I think everyone thinking Steve will return in Reborn, is nothing but a bunch of over-excited fanboys. And comics never go with the obvious conclusion, they always want to shock and amaze.
