Alpha Flight

So I am pretty far behind on reading my books and just got around to reading Astonishing X-Men #51, and I am confused about something. Isn't Alpha Flight dead? I seem to remember them all being plowed through by someone or other that landed from space or something in an issue of one of the X-books a few years back. I also know that the only person that stays dead in comics is Uncle Ben. So did miss their resurrection or did someone make a HUGE continuity error?

They came back during the Chaos War event in the Hercules comics. Sorry I don't know anything beyond that having never read Chaos War myself.
