Should I buy it or not? This is the struggle I'm having. I'm on a quest to own every major video game console up to the 128-bit era. So far I've got: NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, PS2 (& PS1, backwards compatibility), XBox, GBA-SP (& classic gameboy, backwards compatibility). So I still need Sega Dreamcast, and Gamecube which are cheap and easy enough to find.
The problem I have with Sega Master System is that they are going for $50-$100 a piece, and it's only an 8-bit system. Add to that that many of the best games for Master System were eventually made for Sega Genesis (Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Space Harrier, Mickey's Castle of Illusion) which I have. Is it worth it?
Are there other games worthwhile for it that I'm missing here? Should I get it?
Well I wouldn't consider Sega CD or Sega Saturn as a major system. Neither of them lasted for more than a couple years, and not too many significant games for them either. And then both of them are ridiculously over-priced on re-sell market!
Mind you most of my vintage dealers have closed shop

The master system wasn't really great.
But $50-$100?Where are you shopping? Around here you can pick up a master system, 2 controllers and all the hook ups for like 30 bucks.
They shound't be priced that high.

For those unfamiliar with the Master System, it is Sega's system that came before the Genesis.
