Best Super-Hero/Comic Book Video Games

Posted in Off Topic

It seems that super-hero/comic book games get a bad reputation by gamers. I don't understand why. Sure there have been some bad ones, but there have been plenty of awesome ones, too:

Batman: The Video Game (NES)
Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six (NES)
Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage (SNES/Genesis)
Death & Return of Superman (SNES/Genesis)
Justice League: Task Force (SNES/Genesis)
X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse (SNES)
X-Men 2: The Clone Wars (Genesis)
Marvel vs. Capcom (PS1/Saturn/Dreamcast)
Spider-Man 1 & 2(PS1/N64/Dreamcast)
Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (PS2)
Spider-Man 1 & 2(PS2/XBox/Gamecube)
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (PS2/XBox/Gamecube)
X-Men Legends 1 & 2
Justice League: Heroes (PS2/XBox)
What are some of your favorites?

Back in the day I considered this games awesome:
Spider Man 1 psx
Marvel super heroes fighting games by capcom
Marvel vs capcom, and x-men vs street fighter series
X-men Mutant academy 1 and 2

Currently I love and keep playing just for fun
Hulk ultimate destruction ps2
Spider man 2 ps2

Slighly enjoyed:
Marvel ultimate alliance 1 ps2

got disapointed
Marvel ultimate alliance 2 - still playing but they removed some good stuff that was going on the first, feels like a downgrade, with a few improvments, plus some chars are so downpowered, boss battles are ridiculous, like I'm the Hulk or the thing, and bulleye doesn't move when I punch him? realistic overpowered chars should exist.
X-men next dimension- it's super hard, no move list avaible, you gotta go online and look for it, plus lots of moves and diferents combos for every chars, makes it hard to be good at this game
X-Men legends 1 - When the game ended it sucked, I wanted to keep on playing upgrading my chars and stuff, I don't want to replay the training missions over and over again to gain levels, if at least I could replay the game keeping levels.
Wolverine revenge, the gameplay was so frustating, it was so "heavy", not fluid like wolverine should be

Curious about
Punisher
lego batman
Marvel vs capcom 2

and the ps3 games I can't play

I really enjoyed MK vs. DC...for the hour that I played it and beat it in. It was an awesome looking game and a lot of fun to play, but unfortunately it was just too short and too small. You can beat the game in under an hour and there is little replay value to it other than vs. matches with your friends, but that simple novelty just isn't enough since it's been around since the SNES and Genesis.

Great rental, bad purchase.
