Sega CD?

Sega CD?
Posted in
Off TopicShould I get it, or shouldn't I? I'm really debating this one. I want to, so I have a more complete video game collection, but is it really worth it? The only games that I can think of that I'd want that are affordable, Sega CD exlusive, and good are:
-Sonic CD
-Star War: Rebel Assault
-And a few 2d spaceship shooters
-I'd of course want Lunar, but it's pricey online and hard to find locally.
The rest are either crappy FMV games, or they're also available on the Genesis or Saturn, both which I own.
And while at one time these things were affordable, they're just as expensive as getting a used a PS2 because they're just starting to become collectable. So it's kind of a now or never deal because they're probably gonna just keep going up in value. It's a toughie. I can get one on Amazon for $70, which is the best deal I can find out there right now. All the cheaper ones are broken or missing wires.
Would you other retro-gamers go for it?

Batman on eBay
But is it really nescerassery?
I think not.
I got mine cheap ($7.00 attached to a gen 2 Genesis) at a thrift store.
I got really chummy with a LGS owner and sold me a bunch of Sega CD games real cheap. The were disc only nothing else. But when your paying 3-4 bucks a piece I don't mind.
I have few fun games for it but the only 2 I own that I really really love are Leathal enforcers 1&2. I have the Konmi justfier so there real fun to play.
I enjoy the shooters on it. Those are fun but are very simlar to other games found on the consoles of the time.
I don't think there is enough "exculsive content" on it to really justfy a purchase.
My advice? Don't buy it but serach your thrift stores and garage sales. You never know when one will turn up cheap.
Hope this helps.
