FO: New Vegas Ultimate Skill Challenge!
Posted in
Off TopicBeing a minigun wielding idiot I often think to myself, "Hey, why don't I stop and take the time of day to make a character that's more than a man tank of awesome." Then I realize I don't have the patient nor the lvl cap of 35 because I'm playing on ps3, but I'll have it soon enough, timed exclusives and all that jazz. Anyway, to those of you on xbox 360 I pose a challenge, THE ULTIMATE SKILL CHALLENGE! This is a small guide to maxing out every skill to 100, literally maxing out ever skill to 100, but you must sacrifice just about every super neat perk. Do as follows....
Starting Special
start
S 3
P 7
E 7
C 1
I 9
A 5
L 8
Implants
S 4
P 8
E 8
C 2
I 10
A 6
L 9
Make that your starting special, then before even getting to level 2, book it to the clinic and get the intelligence implant, all other SPECIAL implants can wait, put them on the back burner and go earn lots of money with your now ridiculous luck to get them all, it took me maybe a half hour to and hour to get them all. Now, there are 10 levels of intense training, comprehension, and educated. Take educated ASAP! Those 3 extra points of skill will come into play as soon as level 4. You can only get 17 perks with the level 35 cap, I know about the double perks glitch, but it would negate this whole process. Without tagging at the moment, I'm counting the addittional 4th tag in as well, your skills will be this.
Barter- C- 11
Energy- P- 23
Explosives - P- 23
Guns- A- 17
Lock Pick- P- 23
Medicine- I- 27
Melle- S- 15
Repair- I- 27
Science- I- 27
Sneak- A- 17
Speech- C- 11
Survival- E- 23
Unarmed- E- 23
Now, this is where it gets hairy, if you've maximized your skill point output, you should have gotten 15 for your first 4 levels, and now will be getting 17 from now on. This means you get a total of 587 skill points, as well as an addittional 20 in each skill with all 5 books, 24 in science thanks to a 5th book gift glitch you can get. You also can get 15 points more in 4 skills due to tagging. Now, I've already worked all the hard numbers, and this is what you end up with just all that factored in, these are what your skills will stand at with tagging, skill points, and books only factored in.
Barter- C- 80
Energy- P- 92
Explosives-P- 92
Guns- A- 86
Lock Pick- P- 92
Medicine- I- 100
Melle- S- 84
Repair- I- 100
Science- I- 100
Sneak- A- 86
Speech- C- 78
Survival- E- 92
Unarmed- E- 92
Looking Pretty good so far huh? Now for the Trickiest part, factoring in the intense training, getting those precarious +2's from single skill points to be worth the most. You might be thinking, Luck? No, do not! Luck is the only skill that rounds, which means a 9 is equivalent to a 10, meaning a 7 is equal to an 8. So, you're getting the most out of luck at 9. Now, certain parts of this must be factored in as you level up to make room for optimization. Here's what I did. DO NOT INCREASE STRENGTH! It only effects 1 skill.
+2 perception - Effecting energy weapons, explosives, lock pick
+2 agility - Guns and Sneaks
+2 endurance - Survival and Unarmed
Now that we have all those, your skills will be altered, with this formula you can effecitvely end up with 12 of 13 skills totall maxed and the remainder is still pretty darn good, let me show you what I ended up with, I chose to ignore 1 of the 2 Charisma based skills, so you can have awesome Barter or Speech, or average both and just have 11 maxed skills.

This is the most maxed out skill based build I could get... ~_~ that's a lot of math and time into all that, so, if you're obsessive and don't care for miniguns as much as I do, take the challenge?

Please wait...
