Lego LOTR?

Posted in Off Topic

I have too say, after seeing the ad for lego LOTR I was very disapointed. All this time it has been based on a relatively mature audience, but now we are reaching out to younger groups with Lego (which wouldn't be so bad if they didn't make those games). I personally hate lego figures, I think some of the sets are cool for display granted the Lego Yoda is pretty fun, but I still do not think that this lisense should be given to Lego. After having seen friends play Lego Star Wars, Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean I have determined that the only goal of lego games is too take relatively serious storylines and turn them into some kind of joke. I would like too start a online petition for all people who are also against it. So if you are against it to, please let me know so we can start a petition. WE MUST SAVE THE LORD OF THE RINGS!!

I can't believe that I forgot Harry Potter! There is a student you MUST find in a VERY specific way, otherwise, the game crashes and you have to erase the file. Further, any item that "finds" stuff tells you that there is something off screen after you get everything in that room. We checked this online too.

I enjoyed the LEGO Star Wars and Indy stuff. I actually own all, or almost all, the otiginal LEGO Star Wars sets. The games were good and highly enjoyable, though once you hit 101% there was no replay value. The Clone Wars and Pirates games were...troubled. They have serious problems. In Pirates, my mother and I were on Davy Jones' ship, and were truing to steal the key. We needed some sort of orb or something to trigger a switch. It didn't show up. We tried exiting the room. We couldn't. We looked online, in case it was us. We checked three different, riable sources, and all three said we did everything correctly. Furthermore, we should have been able to leave the room. Also, both games freeze. Finally, the Clone Wars game is really dark, as in, you can't see a blasted thing.

The only Lego movie related series that ever really did good was Star Wars. I got some myself.

Good pount DT I said the same think to Yami awhile back when we were discussing these "designer" Yoda shirts they have been producing and selling. I am a huge Yoda fan. I have an entire Yoda collection and I hate the culture the tees are tied to but heck the more Yoda stuff produced means there is a larger chance of them releasing something I DO want.

I loved Lego Starwars and Indy, full of cheeky little bits and great light relief when you're fed up of hardcore gaming. Personally I think any sort of merchandise / media relating to a film will only serve to increase the fan base of any given property. Ok it may only be a temporary raise but it's still there. As for actual Lego it's the most successful toy ever so I can't see it failing really.

Yeah the plushies are prettl interesting too, I forgot about them. I do like the lego sets, but there is just something about the figures I just don't like. I do think the sets have good collector value though. I just think the games are to simplistic, they could be fun though considering Skylanders is pretty simplistic as well (yet there is something strangely addicting about it).

Oh yeah LOTR have been sooooooo mature

Have you ever played any of the lego games? They are actually a lot of fun and a GREAT way to get non gaming friends/loved ones in to games. They are cute simplistic games that many hardcore gamers and critics praise. I had a blast playing lego Batman. Also as for the "mature" thing thats just your opionon. Some would say you and I are immature for collecting LOTR toys. Heck I have even seen other LOTR collectors veiw the toys as childish. They believe either you collect props or don't collect at all. Also MANY MANY adults buy and play with Legos. They have a HUGE adult fanbase.

Now you know and knowing is half the battle G.I.JOE
