So I've been on a tangent all this month about Megaman. I'm not sure what caused it, but the little fanboy in me from my childhood started thinking about how much I missed the games. I dug around and kept digging until I found what few Megaman games I own; Megaman Legends 1 and 2, Megaman X, and the original bad box art NES cartridge of Megaman 1. I think I have a few GBA games here and there as well. I've started replaying the Legends titles and was actually kind of surprised... for games there are literally over 10 years old each they hold up. The first one doesn't hold up near as well as part 2, but they both are still charming and well animated with likable characters. I started trying to find a copy of the Misadventures of Tron Bonne, the only other game ever made for the series... but its about $400. Everywhere I looked wanted a rather hefty sum.
Anyways... its been almost 3 years since there was a new Megaman game, Capcom has effectively cut all ties with the character and slowly been routing him out of anything they are attached to. Anyone have any favorite moments in any of the hundreds of titles?
Too bad it never got reissued as a green labeled greatest hits edition, I've been getting Final fantasy games that are usually pricey cheap because they're reissues. I seriously need to get Lunar 1 and 2 for the ps soon before prices go up again.
I always liked the X series probably the absolute best due to one key feature... DASHING! The dash ability introduced by Megaman X made the whole series adjust to a completely new level of control for me.
Misadventures is the one Legends game I never got to finish, and the worst part is... Its apparently NEVER ran well on any emulator. I'm seriously almost entirely out of luck in wanting to play and beat it.
I plan on getting the originals and the collections for the newer systems. Can't believe Misadventures is that expensive, then again some games just get that way for whatever reason.
I'm a big fan of Mega Man as well--I like the classic games better than the X, Zero, Legends, etc. spinoff series, but I own, or have played, most of them. Mega Man 4, on the NES, is probably my favorite out of all of them.
also this is the biggest reason I love Megaman, this band is beyond f*cking amazing
