2009 Fall TV Line-Up

Posted in Off Topic

The new fall season is right around the corner. New shows are already starting on some networks. I'm not sure what you're into, but I'm a big Sci-Fi geek and this is what I'm looking forward to:

-Dollhouse - The first season was great! An original concept for a new sci-fi show, and it actually lasted on FOX for more than one season! There is a god! I can't wait to see what the second season has in store for those oh so hot dolls.

-V: This is a new series coming to ABC based off of the original 1980s sci-fi TV mini-series.

-Stargate: Universe: This is the 3rd Stargate series, and is airing on SyFy. From what I can tell from preview commercials, this series focuses on a group of humans stuck on a ship that is lost in the universe. It seemed like the previews were also insinuating that the ship has it's own mission and is controlling where it's going.

-Sanctuary - One of the very few good Sci-Fi/SyFy original shows left. The first season was fun, and this season looks to be even better. Vampires, Monsters, Freaks, and Werewolves frequent this show which actually has a lot to say about racial views, and is action packed.

-Heroes - I have to admit, I'm a little wary after last season's disaster. But I'm willing to give it another chance, the 1st season was killer, and the 2nd was going places if it wasn't for the writer's strike. The story of modern people with super-powers.

-Flash Forward - I'm really not sure exactly what this show is all about. But the previews on TV have me intrigued enough to check out the pilot, at least. Airs on NBC.

-Smallville - Looks to be the most comic-based season yet with DC Comics writer extraordinare Geoff Johns (Green Lantern Rebirth, Green Lantern, JSA, Flash, Action Comics) joining writing duties. And episodes with characters such as General Zod, Metallo, and The JSA. And since this is expected to be the THE last season of the show, expect by the end of the season for some big things leading up to Clark taking the role of Superman. Airing on The WB.

-TNA Impact!: The best 2 hours of wrestling on TV each and every Thursday on Spike at 9pm, & always new. Wrestlers include Kurt Angle, Sting, Scott Steiner, Booker T, Bobby Lashley, Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, Jeff Jarrett, Dudley Boyz, Rhyno, Tazz, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe.

Believe it or not, I'm actually a cartoon fan, too. I try to catch at least the comic-based cartoons, if not other action cartoons. (I'm really an overgrown kid) But this season, there's nothing coming out worth noting. I want to watch Wolverine & The X-Men. I saw the pilot when Nickelodeon aired it and I enjoyed it. Then after the pilot episodes, they only aired it on Nick Toons which I don't get on my cable. But I still watch reruns of Spider-Man (90s), Gargoyles, Batman (90s), Superman (90s), Futurama, South Park, and Family Guy. All of those being on either Toon Disney or Comedy Central/Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.

I'm a little leary about V. The orginal TV show based on the miniseries in the 80s wasn't that good. I'm wondering if it picked up 20 years later like the last novel.
