It sounds like it would be a good idea, but I don't know. The whole reason they picked Nolan is because the studio thought it would be a good idea to make Superman darker and edgier because it worked for The Dark Knight. Yeah, dark and edgy does work for Batman, but NOT Superman. Dark and edgy would NEVER be words I'd use to describe Superman. WB is gonna screw up the legend of Superman so bad.
It should be according to this info: Todd will feature in a DC Universe Original Animated film adaptation of "Under the Hood" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Todd
This movie has to be a big-budget production, or else it will turn out as a very bad B-looking movie. There's just an insane amount of special-effects that will have to go into this if they stick to the story.
I'd like to see them do a trilogy of movies, Brainiac in the first, Doomsday in the 2nd, and Luthor in the 3rd. With Luthor/LexCorp. being somewhat present in the first 2, but Luthor not revealing himself as a villian until the third.
I'd also like to see them do what Marvel is doing with making individual hero movies and tieing them together to make a super-hero team movie afterwards, although I don't think that it'd be too plausible with the Nolan Batman series.
I think you could make Superman a bit darker without ruining things, he's been a bit darker in the comics a couple of times. he could be a bit more like the justice lord superman. The problem with Superman returns was it was the Christopher Reeve superman but without Christopher Reeve, he made the role of that version in the 80s and it was just a bad idea to not reboot the series instead of putting a new guy in it.
That's what I'm thinking too. Imagine the final scene with him donning the cape and him flying out to go after the newly returned Lex Luthor who turns out to be behind all the chaos this season. Then letters text across the screen that say "To Be Continued in Fall in the Series Premiere of 'Superman!' "That's my little version of how it would end.
Its not gonna happen. Tom Welling has stated he has no interest in ever wearing the "spandex underwear" that why we haven't seen "Superman" after 9 years of the show. He has said in an interview once that the day he is asked to don the outfit for the show, is the day he quits. I think this is why he was not offered the Returns role.
I have to disagree. I know they said that at one point, I remember. But the direction of the show this season makes it seem almost obvious that we're gonna see Clark in the old Red & Blue before it ends. Just look at all the hints: The JSA comes along to mentor him, he's already working as a vigilante as it is (The Blur), the JLA are coming together as a newborn team, Clark is already in Metropolis (not Smallville anymore) and working at the Daily Planet with Lois Lane as his partner, Clark loves Lois and Lois loves Clark but neither will admit it, Dr. Fate tells him he will lead the new generation of heroes, we see his red cape in a vision of the future, even Zod is around. All the pieces are set into place. All we're missing is Lex Luthor, and it's already been hinted at that he's not actually dead.
-Nate- I agree all is in place for it...and it may well happen. I just remember him plainly saying that and unless they are promising him some major coin, I don't see it changing. I could be wrong....we will have to wait and see.

James Cameron was gonna make a Death & Return of Superman movie in the late 90s, why WB decided against such an awesome idea only God knows. I also love the Darkseid idea.

The Cartoon of it was pretty freaking awesome though.

I agree. No Lex and no Zod. Something new please. ..and nothing with Kryptonite. True. If done well, maybe the whole death of Superman done in live action would be nice. Have Doomsday kick the hell out of Supes.
I don't know...it could be good. They certainly can't make anything more messed up than Superman Returns. I think a little grit will be a good thing. Most people I know that don't like Supes say it's because he's so god awful cheesy. I just hope they have a better villain, it'd be nice to see a decent fight scene in a Supes movie.

I'm imagining a battle between supes, and a Matrix or Avatar robot suit right now...
