What ever it is it looks like an even darker take on fatalities.
Upon further investigation it looks like it is actually a test video shot for Warner Brothers to get funding for a R rated MK movie directed by Kevin Tancharoen.
Who knows they may find a way to throw that into this one. I've been hearing a lot of people complaining about the new RE movie too but it looks pretty good, not fond of it being in 3d but I'm not gonna go to the theatre to see it anyhow so I'll get the 2d version on dvd.
I've heard a lot of negative out-cry over this "trailer" on youtube and forums I visit. I personally think it looks cool and hope it happens. I like the "new direction" its taking.

Mortal Kombat is about different characters from different realms fighting to show who is the greatest warrior, to me, this new idea reminds of Balls of Fury...
This looks really good...now as long as they don't mess up Scorpion and Sub-Zero, I'll be happy. Here's for hoping Frost will be in it as well....I know she's a new MK character, but she's one of my favorites.
I never heard of the director. I thought the first MK movie was really good given what most videogame movies end up like, plus I like that director's other films (the first AVP, the RE movies, event horizon). I hope the creators of MK are keeping track of this thing if its for real.
I like the idea its fresh hopefully it won't back fire like the old movies and well making scorpion the main character its somethin long overdue it just adds a badasss element to it I say make this movie.
