Get this. Peter is wearing a 10 grand watch the entire movie due to a deal with some watch company, they supplied the other leads too and they get to keep them. So you have a kid from a middle class struggling famil ywith a watch that could pay their bills for months?
Maybe the shoes are specifically made to stick to walls? I don't know, just a thought. If that pans out, it would seem to me like they wasted some perfectly good braincells coming up with a pointless (unnecessary) addition to Spidey's suit. Stupid writers! On that point, why would they hire the same writer (Alvin Sargent) from the previous movies if you are going to "Reboot" a franchise?
Funny, for all the whining I do about this movie I'm still excited to see it.
Most likely not, all you have to do is go back to the first trilogy...in the first movie when Parker misses the bus, he goes into the ally and starts to climb the wall if you look at his feet he is wearing sneakers...and in part 3 when Parker is attacked by the new Goblin at the begining there is one point where Peter is attached to the wall ( it's when Harry reveals himself ) Peter is wearing a suit and dress shoes ? so my guess is that his little shiny shoes in this movie will stay
I wonder if the shoe like parts on his feet will be edited out. If not, it raises the question of how does he cling to walls, since the tiny little hairs he would normally use to climb aren't long enough to penetrate a the sole of a shoe.
DUDE!!!!!!!!!!! The more I see this suit the more I like it! I know they're taking liberties with the suit but they do that with everything and the style is not so bad. I still think this looks impossible for a teenager to acquire but thats really not that important. As long as the story is great and the acting even better we should be just fine. With Marc Webb at the helm and Andrew Garfield as Spidey we should have nothing to worry about. 2012 can't come soon enough!
The movie's got a great director behind it that can certainly deliver the goods. Plus the cast seems amazing. I don't like the producers behind it (Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin). In my opinion they are to blame for all the mistakes in the last trilogy. I am looking forward to this. We get to see the Gwen Stacy story on film finally.
There are a couple of pics over at Super Hero Hype that show them doing a swinging scene in real life. I'm excited about the use of practical effects over CGI.
ok here is the latest pic of our favorite web-slinging wallcrawler.
I kind of don't like the suit myself. It seems too stylized. I think they always wanted a suit like this (Damn AVI ARAD!) but with the last trilogy Sam Raimi probably wanted something a bit more classic looking. I loved the suit from the first one, but even that one seemed too nice for a teenager, and later college student, to afford. As for this suit, it seems like they went over the top, too over stylized. I appreciate that he's skinny, and even the eyes are reminiscent of the old Steve Ditko drawings. They should've followed that theme and done the whole suit in that fashion. Oh well, despite all these little nit-picks on the suit I'm still looking forward to the movie. From the look of the stunts they seem to be cutting back on the CGI and that's always a good thing, I hate the over-use of CGI in Hollywood today. Again 2012 can't come soon enough, I still think The Dark Knight Rises is going to stomp everything else into the ground though.
The best Spider-Man movie was 2.1, the extended fight scene was sweet but I will admit I don't agree with the whole stopping the train or the being mask less while doing it
This thing is not winning many fans over on the movie prop forum either nor is them getting rid of ramie even after spidey 3 was crap. this is an emo spiderman to attract teenagers.
Not a fan of the missing belt or the length of the spider's hind legs... or "Spidey jr."... But a cool looking photo non-the-less... I'm holding out till I see more to make a decision...
I think my biggest problem with it all is Peter is a not so well off nerdy kid. Where did he get the textured "rubber" suit? Its not like he can just pick that up at the mall. Why don't they make it from something that he could reasonably get a hold of.
I want to see it without the battle-damaged look before I make any judgements on it. In the full picture you can see his a bit below his waist and he's missing his red belt-like part, but it looks like it might have been torn off. And would it kill the costume designers to give Spidey a cup? I don't really want to see spider jr.,
Well it really depends on the era. A few years back spider-man revealed his identity to the world at a press confress. However I THINK that may have been retconned. Anyway I like the fact that he's skinny. Spider-man, to me is a scrawny nerdy teen.
Looks a tad TOO skinny for me, also what in the world is he doing walking about in his suit but with no mask?, may be that I don't have actual comic knowledge of spidey but it really bugged me when he stopped the train and everyone sees who he is, *don't worry we won't tell*. I always thought Spidey protected his ID to protect his loved ones??
Funny, for all the whining I do about this movie I'm still excited to see it.
