After the success of the Friday the 13th reboot we were told a sequel would be in the works....fast forward to 2010 and A Nightmare on Elm Street is rebooted and does better than Friday the 13th did. Once again we are promised a sequel. Now it seems Platinum Dunes aren't interested in doing either. Friday the 13th 2 even has a script, but platinum dunes are trying to move away from horror. Warner Bros however, the company that owns new line cinema and Freddy and Jason, have said that they will most likely go through with a sequel to Friday the 13th without Platinum Dunes' involvement. Perhaps if it works for Friday, they'll pick NOES back up and do a sequel for it as well. I can only hope.
Gotta agree with Bob and Finn here. They will never capture the magic of the first ones so let them be. It may be cool to have a remake every now and again but not an entire reboot franchise.
Dracula 3d is gearing up to be cool from what I've been reading...as for Frankenstein the only movie that comes to mind is Mary Shelley's Frankenstein...regardless I still think there are stories that need to be told in the Freddy and Jason mythos, especially considering the way both remakes ended...they left you wanting more. Plus I think they deserve another shot. It will happen...it's just a matter of when.
