Video Games for the Older Crowd

Video Games for the Older Crowd
Posted in
Off TopicOkay, so I'm not exactly over-the-hill (I'm 26 this year), but let's face it, Video Games are aimed at Pre-Teens and Teens. So what are the games that older people are currently playing? What system? What type of genres? Have your gaming habits changing? Do you stick to older games, or newer games, or do you have a balance of both?
I've noticed since I've gotten older, gaming isn't so impulsive anymore. It used to be that when I was kid I couldn't get enough Nintendo and Sega, I'd play any game available to me. Now that I'm older only the really good games get me really involved (Oblivion, Halo 3, and Resident Evil 4 were the last games to really do that for me). I also go back and re-play a lot of old games now, NES and SNES stuff like Super Metroid, Zelda, Bionic Commando, and others. And my old PC RPGs I've been playing again, right now I'm playing through Neverwinter Nights again. I'm eagerly awaiting Resident Evil 5 (but I have concerns about the co-op play), Bionic Commando, Ghostbusters, and Altered Beast. Unfortunately they're ALL out in March. I have to choose only 1 or 2 to go with. And even further down the road, I can't wait to see Diablo 3!

He plays Wii with my little bro from time to time
but his main hobby is blu-ray dvds lol
I play sims2 and every now and then the old sims 1
I have a snes ps2(useless now) ps3 gamecube(useless now) and a Wii
I like some party games like Smash bro. for Wii or GC Idc which
I like horror puzzlesurvival (Silent Hill series Resident evil series ect.)
I like some marvel and dc fighting games (enjoyed the DC vs. Mortal Kombat a good bit)
I play sims bustin out Urbz sims in the city and sims 2 for gba quite a lot still as well as Scooby doo 1 and 2 for gba just for fun.
I love games,
I started with Double dragon for nes, and I still play it some times,
but I'm mostly into new games, I got a PS2 cause the PS3 is not affordable yet,
the gaming habit that changed for me is mostly the time I spend playing, it's one of the things I most love doing, but as I grow old I don't manage to get time to do it, 3 years ago I'd play 5-6 hours a day or more, not in a row... ok some times in a row, now I play like 6 hours a month or so, sometimes I feel pretty miserable, cause I lust to play, but I got obligations that just don't give me enought time, it really sucks,
as for the games, I love fight games, mostly tekken, def jam ffny was awesome, the most realistic fight game ever if you ask me, soul calibur is very nice, but just doesn't have same dept as tekken, then I'm a fan of SF games, but I wish they would keep 2d, but with hight definition, like the remake of SF2, but they could go on, making new stuff, instead of remakes, but sf4 looks great, I also like MK games, there was time it all became strange, after MK trilogy, the MK4 and following were pretty crappy, then deadly alliance came up and it sticked, I like it, it gets better every game, they're getting back on top, MK VS DC looks great.
Then I like FF series, but I don't play other games with that battle system, I like action games with rpg elements, like leveling up our stats and learn new actions, DMC, GOW, stuff like that
and I'm a sucker for games like MUA, just cause I love the comics, the game could be, should be a lot better.
When games were simpler and more fun. Where you only needed 2 buttons. Where points mattered damn it!!!!!
I play a combo of SNES, NES, Sega geneiess/sega cd (combo unit) and my new favorite: Turbografx-16
I'm tired of these new fangled machicnes with there 3d and online play.
Get off my lawn you damn kids and take your xboxes and ps3 with you!!!!!!!
