Top 10 Animated Films

Posted in Off Topic

What are your favorites? My picks:

1. Justice League: New Frontier - Best animated movie so far. This was great and made me go out and buy the comic series. The movie was actually pretty close to the comics, even the art style. I loved all of it. The history or it, the epicness of it, the nostalgia of it, and the great action. Martian Manhunter was a great focal point of the story. I loved the opening credits showing the rise and retirement of the Golden Age heroes. Green Lantern was the man in this! Hero of the day! I loved that too.
2. Wonder Woman (2009) - I was blown away at how good this was. I wasn't a Wonder Woman fan before this. In fact I was like 15 minutes late to the showing because I was still walking the floor at WonderCon when I saw it, that's how little of a WW fan I was. But this was not girly, it was not cheesy, and it was not a love story. It was bloody violent, steeped in mythology, true to the comics, and funny! The animation was top-notch and the voice-acting fit the characters perfectly! I'm hoping the Green Lantern animated movie coming out next is just as good.
3. Ultimate Avengers - I was amazed at the quality of this film. I'm loving the new Marvel Animated studios. So far, this 1st movie has been the 1st of the ones released by em. The opening WWII scene with Captain America drew me in immeadiatly and I was glued to the screen from then on. Drunk Tony was funny and disturbing to see at the same time, Captain America was an icon like he should have been, Thor was just bad-ass, and Hank was a d*ck. Great! And the Hulk battle at the end was just so freaking cool!
4. Justice League: Starcrossed - I just loved this series, the best ongoing animated series, EVER, imo. I don't know if this was a DVD only release or collected episodes, but either way it was a good one.
5. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker - Batman Beyond was so unique and new for Batman, and actually good at the same time. This movie hit on all the best parts of the series and came together incredibly.
6. Batman: Mask of The Phantasm - The first comic-related animated movie I ever saw. I'm sure we can agree that the series was fantastic, and this movie was basically a grander, 2-hour episode of the series.
7. Gargoyles: The Animated Movie (4 episode pilot episodes in TV Series) - This cartoon was fant-freaking-tastic and way ahead of it's time. The incredible animation talents of Disney, with awesome voice talent, and good writers using comic-like stories. This was the story that introduced the Gargoyles and told their origin, then brought them into the modern world the animed series used.
8. He-Man & She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword - Watched this over a 1000 times as a kid, probably.
9. G.I. Joe: The Animated Movie - I always got so excited when the episodes started showing this movie in order on TV!
10. Titan A.E. - An incredible sci-fi animated film that is highly underrrated, IMO.

Honorable Mentions: Akira, Superman: Doomsday, Ninja Scroll, Heavy Metal, Guyver: Out of Control, Resident Evil: Degeneration, DuckTales: The Movie, Hulk Vs., South Park The Movie, Beavis & Butt-Head Do America.

Ah, since there wasn't anymore animated stuff after that, I count it as a movie. But yeah it is awesome.

^Bstrd! is fan-freaking-tastic! But it's a multi-chapter series, not really an animated movie, imo. That's why I didn't include it.
