Congress wants to ban certain pets

Off TopicH.R. 669 is a bill going through congress that would ban non-native species in the pet trade. This would include ferrets, tropical fish, reptiles, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs and most birds. The bill defines a non-native species as "...any live species or subspecies of animal that is not native species or subspecies, whether or not born or raised in captvity..."
Further more, if this bill passes, citizens would require special permits to own these animals "...for scientific research, medical accredited zoological or aquarium display purposes or for educational purposes that are specifically reviewed approved and verified by the Secretary..."
This whole bill is moronic as all harmful invasive species are already illegal to own! In fact, there exists an Invasive Species Council in the U.S.
The only reason this bill is sitting before congrss is because HSUS, an organization aggainst the ownership of exotic species and PETA, an organization against sanity are the ones backing this bill. Even if only a handful of species are included in this bill it will create problems for pet store owners, animal owners and send millions of dollars into something that is purposeless and ultimatly harmful to not just buisness owners but private citizens as well.

I'm just glad I live in Canada.
Well since this is going on in the states just get a whole lot of people to sue PETA and such with pointless law suits untill they go bankrupt from all lawsuits. No money means they can't lobby the goverment.
