Keep in mind toysoup is a VERY small forum with less than 300 members. The people who do post there are like a small family, its a pretty quiet place and most people like it that way.
people don't just throw comments everywhere like nameless drones. They post with meaning to their close friends. Take the time to mingle and comment on other work. Soon enough your part of the family and people can't wait to comment on your stuff.
If its huge exposure your looking for, toysoup may not be for you (try fwoosh or TNI). If you want a fun place to hang out with a smaller, yet growing group, toysoup will always be chill, and probably never as huge as other sites
It seems that there was kind of an exodus of several very talented long-time members here, and they have seemed to have flocked elswhere...Buy even though things may seem a little dead, there seems to be an influx of many new customizers here at figurerealm, so maybe there's just kind of a change in trends as well.
toysoup is alive but like most of the sites and bordes its the same thing your talking about...I think its kinda a dead era for toys,I mean the only thing really going on is dcu...just waite until closer to sdcc and I think things will heat up a bit...but to tell the truth scarecrow,im having the same problems here that your having on toysoup...no responses to questions or post, thats why I think its happening everywhere..
Then you don't live here in Michigan man!!! the economy is HORRIBLE HERE!!!! over 10% of the population here is laid off, nothing to disbelieve in that! I'm lucky, I'm still working, but I was laid off, its not fun!!
People very well could be working more often. But I've never believed that sh*t about the economy. I think it's all simply made up. If people believe we are in a recession, then we will be in a recession. It's dirty pool by the government is all it is.
I thought it was just the sites I was going to. I completely stopped going to my original comic posting site, HeroRealm.com because it's as good as dead now. And my other comic posting site that I helped build a little of is still strong but not nearly as active as it was (ComicCollectorLive.com)
Everything online seems to be slow these days. With the economy and all, perhaps people are working more hours, spending less money on this hobby and less time on the forums...
yeah... I have only been here... back in 4th grade, I was waaay into action figures... that soon died down. last year, after seeing iron man, I bought a figure (first one I had bought in a couple o' years). I then bought an iron monger figure as well. it was then that I went to google to look up hawkeye pics (I knew IM was in the avengers and I wanted to build up a line up as I already had Thor, Cap, and Scarlet Witch). I saw a waaay cool one (a custom) that's when I found this site... I've never been the same again...
There was another action figure site I was going to that ended up the same, which is why I switched to here. I can't seem to remember the URL becuase I just clicked it up off of my favorites list. But they were more centered on 80s figures than anything else.
BANNED.. lol.. j/k
I'll start posting my customs on there soon I just won't have time to alwese write how I made them.
BANNED.. lol.. j/k
***vanishes again***
