First I would like to mention that I am new here and have been an action figure collector since I was a little boy. My favorite figures to collect are Mc.Farlanes Spawn collection but have a broad range of taste and love viewing all action figures. Saying that, I have a few action figures that I grabbed while in San Antonio, Texas for a good price. I have been trying to value them but cannot seem to find anything online to reference, not even an opened figure. I thought I would ask here and see if anyone has a way to identify these two for me.
I agree, especially with the warnings on the front in english, that they may have been brought over as store exclusives or something to do with preorders.
Yeah, Kotobukiya is written several times on the back and I looked on the jp website as well as the us website with no luck. I am grateful you found these images. I had a pain of a time looking around.
Hmm... so far I'm only just finding some random pictures of cloud and a ship from the series, ArtFX seems to either "Be" or be affiliated with Kotobukiya and I would imagine they are Japan Imports, Although the the fact that all the writing is in english seems odd.
My guess would be they were made exclusively for something in the us (a retailer like EB or Gamestop)~Then used as a game pre-order bonus, or in-store contest prize. They are probably very limited due to how hard it is to locate any info on them.
Yeah. On the box it says ArtFX so I have been looking into that but with no results. It doesn't even show that they have made any Final Fantasy figures in the past.
They could have been exclusive versions. They don't look that different than the playarts ones. I think those may have come out right after the movie before the playarts ones where made or playarts bought them. did you google the company to see if they had info?
Yep, tried that site. I have looked for it every which way I can for two hours. Even just the serial number looking up but nothing. I have had them for a year now and was looking at them today wondering if I could value both.
Maybe I got lucky and bought some exclusives or something.
I was thinking the same thing as them being more rare. I have looked them up and only found the Seph and Cloud in a second series that look different, never these two with big boxes. I have found some ships from the movie in boxes like this but nobody seems to have these two figures. It is just kinda stressing me out that I can't find them boxed anywhere.
I didn't think anyone made AC figures other than Playarts, unless playarts bought this company out. In the package the play arts usually stay about the same price or go higher depending on character. I've never seen these so it may be worth a bit more.
