custom questions?? repaints or customs???

Posted in Off Topic

hey guys I have a question. I've been reading and reading and checking out all of the figures in the showcase.now, keep in mind ,I am brand new to this and know nothing.but something has caught my eye and it concerns me.I have seen many pieces that say that the base figure is the same figure that they "customized", but they repainted it. is this really considered custom? im not talking about adding details or armor with sculpty, just the ones that are repainted or maybe you throw on a jacket and a different gun and viola! here's a custom.I have seen some amazing pieces on here and I was just wondering, what exactly makes a figure a custom.I mean just because if you paint your car it doesn't make it a custom, its the same old car with new paint.again just wondering and I hope I don't offend anyone,

thanks

I wouldn't frown apon repaint I have never done them but painting is a lot of the work that goes into my customs.

oh, we had a long discussion about this, but I guess what makes a custom is altering the appearance of the figre. Whether it be switching out body limbs, sculpting, or as you stated repainting it.
