Where's The Wrestling Fans?
Posted in
Off TopicJust wondering where all my fellow wrestling fans are? It doesn't matter if you are a fan of older stuff or still watch the current stuff.
-Which is your favorite wrestling federation (WWE, WCW, TNA, ECW, ROH, NWA, AWA, etc.)?
-What's your favorite match of all time?
-Who's your favorite wrestler?
-What's your favorite storyline/feud?
-If you do watch wrestling currently do you prefer WWE, TNA, or ROH?
-And whatever else you want to mention.
Let's see, my favorite wrestling federation is without a doubt WCW. I loved WCW. I wish it were still around. I watched it from about the time Hogan came on board until about the time Hogan dropped the nWo Hollywood character and went back to the red & yellow and Goldberg just dominated everybody and everything. After that WCW got pretty bad and I switched over to WWF (then in the Attitude Era).
My favorite wrestler is hard to pin down. It changes from time to time. When I was a little kid, it was The Ultimate Warrior. Then I liked Sting for a long time. When I went back to WWF finally, I liked The Rock. Then I really started liking Triple H. Most recently I really liked Chris Jericho (then known as Y2J). Now it really doesn't matter, as long as the wrestling is goo.
My favorite storyline is hands down the nWo vs. WCW angle. That storyline kept me hooked and waiting with anticipation for the next Monday Night Nitro for like 2 years. And the Hogan vs. Sting feud that culminated from is was epic in it's own right.
As for current wrestling I'm definetly a TNA fan. It's no WCW or WWF Attitude Era, but it's the best wrestling on right now. The current WWE product is made for little kids, is repetitive, and is insulting to fans' intelligence. And I don't get the channel on my cable the ROH airs on.
TNA has some growing to do, I admit. But they have the best tag-team division in the business. And their X-Division is leaps and bounds ahead of what WWE is doing with their lower-to-mid card guys. Their main event scene has more star-power than any other federation right now with stars like Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Booker T, Scott Steiner, Team 3D (Dudley Boyz), and others.

Please wait...
I'd say my favorite fed is WWE, but I do have fond memories of watching WCW on TV when I was a kid.
Favorite match: Just for the sheer amount of stuff going on and the twists and turns it took storywise, and the action wasn't too bad.... The Inagural Brawl on the Invasion PPV. (the Hardy v Undertaker match was killer too though)
Favorite Story: For it's potential: Invasion. For what actually played out: The unmasking of Kane. The slow build from his more friendly/happy self back toward the out of control monster, ending with several of the bigger stars kinda wondering..."were we really encouraging him to unleash the monster?"
Favorite wrestler: I really group wrestlers into 2 categories. Favorite characters: Kane and Undertaker, with Hurricane as a third. I've just always liked the story concepts behind teh characters. Favorite atheletes: Jericho, Evan Bourne, Benoit, Shelton Benjamin, C.M. Punk (and lately John Morrison). They're the guys who're making me really interested to see what's coming next in the match, even if their current storyline kinda sucks.
Could we add one? Favorite tag team: For me it's either Demolition or the Road Warriors, both of them had that cutting edge type look and always functioned as powerful teams.
-What's your favorite match of all time? It Was A Jeff Hardy Vs Undertaker match Where Jeff Got The Hell Kicked Out of Him & Kept Getting Up Even After the match was over He Call Out Taker & told Him that He Took His Best Hits & He's Still Standing Come Back & Finish Me ! That was Bottom Line Cool !
-Who's your favorite wrestler Hulk Hogan ! Stone Cold , HHH & The Hardy Boyz I Will Watch Any matches W/ Them
-What's your favorite storyline/feud? DX Take Over
-If you do watch wrestling currently do you prefer WWE .
Either New Jack, Raven, or Kane (mask)
Fav. story-the Abyss and brother Judismisi-something
Fav. fued-New JAck and the guy who made brainjuice come outta NJ's head (then NJ staple guned him in the balls and threw him off a 80ft balcony!)

I've watched a couple of these and it's brought back fond memories. A great way to hold your interest until The Rise & Fall of WCW DVD comes out. I haven't watched em all yet, I plan to. But damn do these make me miss WCW, and these weren't even from the best years ('97-'98). WCW beats both the current WWE and TNA hands down.
