For the record: Yes, Han fires first, best, and last.
But....from the story established for Greedo. (Basically...he sucked. And Jabba felt sorry for him so gave him occassional work.) Him shooting from point blank and missing fits well. It was dumb....but it does fit his story. He also becomes the basis for a new drink served at the cantina.....
The rodian that Anakin beats up in the E1 deleted scenes is Wald, not Greedo.
The original Stormtroopers were indeed highly trained clones. That's how in the beginning the Empire was able to actually become a military power. As the clones wore out though, they were replaced by conscripts, draftees, and lower quality clones. Eventually, by the time of A New Hope, there were very few clones left in the Stormtrooper rankings, many of whom were sent on the mission to Hoth with Vader. I believe that this explanation was inserted into the Expanded Universe stuff to explain why there were Stormtroopers of different heights and why the Clones were able to kill off almost the entire Jedi Order without much difficulty, but the Stormtroopers couldn't stop a few people from breaking out of their massive space station, or any number of other things that shouldn't have been tough...
Yup, I'm just chock full of useless Star Wars info.
Everybodies watched too much Speacial edition to remember the oringal.
This video hands down proves Han shot first. Greedo didn't even get a shot off.
Han has ALWAYS shot first. I keep telling people this but everybody is polluted by the speacial editon they forgey the orngial source mateial.
The only grounds people have for a debate of who shot first is debating about the speacial edition. But keep in mind that Lucas had his greasey mits all over it back in like 1997 changing things. It's not the oringal they way it's been for 32 years.
Acording to the novels the empire did try using clones like 10 years after return of the jedi. They aren't for long turn use. After a little while they go crazy and aren't useful. That's why they used normal humans.
Acoording to every expanded unverise source before the prequeals humans were storm troopers and I read a recent book and it's still that way.
However we all know Lucas just threw all that out window ingoring the decadited in unversie for the last 25 years.
I still read the books and they are acurite to what we all know.
So the leason here? Burn your prequeals and read the books.
the prequels ruin a lot of star wars. Boba fett is now a clone-ruined mystery. Stormtroopers are also clones. Thank god han's backstory wasn't raped by the PT
lucas loves screwing up his stuff doesn't he? I had Starwars tech books that showed vadar's early outfits which lucas ignored, and are part of the original storyline of the novels, that showed a slow progression yet in the movie he goes straight to the full suit.
True, but I'll take a sec from my life to say: Greedo shooting first is just soooooo lame. Part of Han's badass-ness was the fact that he shot first. Stupid George Lucas.
I used to be very opioned on this subject until I realized that all the time spent on arguing could have been doing something productive...Like having a life.
