Who would take who

Posted in Off Topic

Ok guys I kinow theres a lot of who would win topics but I was cleaning my spare room and came accross an issue of wizard. Inside was Thanos vs Darksied. Darksied was victorious but I don't think so. Who do you think would win Thanos or Darksied?

Yes, but only because Darkseid and Thanos would eventually turn on each other and The Avengers and JLA would use that to their advantage. If Darkseid and Thanos actually viewed each other as equals and truly worked together, they would kill every super-hero in existance. But that would never happen because it's against their natures to share power & glory with anyone.

Ok now heres a better question. Do you think that the justice league and the avengers could take Thanos and Darksied if they teamed up

Thanos, that's my vote right there, I mean yeah darkseid is basically a god, but I think thanos in fight till the end would destroy him just because in my opinion Thanos is smarter and could possibly be more powerful, but nevertheless it be a great fight

lol, avatar kind of gives you away. Don't get me wrong, Thanos is cool. My gripe is that he is under used in the main books. You usually only see him pop up in mini series and less than popular titles. I'd love to see him whoop the avengers down from time to time.

Still is to me. I've got most of his stuff including an autographed copy of the first issue of infinity gauntlet

I gotta say it looks like we're on the same side here. Thanos was an a lister back in the day, and no longer is.

Well, you just said major stories. He also has made MANY appearances in Warlock's various series, he has been a major villain for Dr. Strange, and Dr. Strange's team book in the 90s The Secret Defenders. He also fought Quasar a few times in his series. And Thanos had his own self-titled series. Point being: Thanos has had more than enough chances to be on the A-List like Darkseid, and has failed.

Thats true, but you also have to look at timeline. Everyone knows Joker and Goblin because they use them all the time. Thanos hasn't had a big storyline since Infinity Guantlet, I'll bet a lot more people knew who he was back then.

I beg to differ:

-Infinity War
-Infinity Crusade
-Thanos Quest
-Infinity Abyss
-Marvel: The End

When I said Infinity Gauntlet I didn't mean that series, but that era for him in general. Since there were 3 miniseries that all happened back to back I just lump them together. Kinda like how you can lump Earth x, Universe x, and Paradise X together. Since Thanos quest was about the inifinity guantlet as well and happened in 1990 thats really just a precursor to the Infinity Gauntlet series.

So what you've really got is Infinity Abyss, a mini series from 7 years ago. And Marvel: The end, an elseworlds miniseries from 6 years ago. Hardly the best use of a villian, especially compared to Darkseid, Joker, or Goblin. Lets face it Thanos hit his prime in the early 90's and has essentially slipped off the A list since then.

I think in this day and age prominence really counts for something when comparing comic characters. Darkseid is an A lister. Ask a casual fan about Thanos and they'll have no idea who that is. Look at the Joker or green goblin...by no means the most powerful villains or the largest in scope...but iconic.

He has also shrugged off a full blast from Galactus. The only reason Drax killed him was becase his love for Mistress Death and her acceptance. He got that and then let Drax kill him

In my opinion, Thanos is smarter and just as tough as Darkseid (Thanos outsmarted the freaking devil!). Rip off or not, Thanos has become his own character over the years and I respect him. Thanos shrugged off a full on blast from the Silver Surfer... he casually stopped Mjolnir's flight and even stood up to Odin -in Asgard- and refused to fall. Yeah, he's my #1 villain.

I don't think Thanos is a rip off of Darkseid. The reason I say this is that if my information isn't wrong Jack Kirby came up with both of them.

Yeah, Thanos is a Darkseid rip-off. It's pretty obvious looking at the two characters. And Thanos was created by Jim Starlin.

Seeing as Darkseid KILLED batman...I would say Darkseid. Also, Thanos is a rip off of darkseid. Check out the gauntlet.

That's kinda the joke with Squirrel Girl. Every now and then you just need to see Squirrel Girl kick some cosmic arse, whether it be Galactus, Firelord, or Thanos.

But Thanos is just a Darkseid rip-off, and not even nearly as cool. Plus he's a failure. Thanos fails at everything he does, despite his awesome might. Darkseid lords it over an entire freaking planet, and has fought a planet full of Gods to a stalemate. He's also defeated the entire GL Corps, that's why they don't mess with Apokolips on their space patrols. Not to mention one-on-one wins over freaking Superman!

Darkseid. Without the IG Thanos is pretty lame. He was beaten by Squirrel Girl on one occasion.
