YESSSS!!! I can't wait to see tour dates and places. This is a metal fan's dream come true! But can Megadeth and Metallica co-exist? I don't think they've ever talked about each other without putting a little jab in there.
Cinderella was. I can state that as solid opinion. I couldn't make out any words in the songs I heard at all. My older brother was way into them, and I never understood it. Nothing against fans of the genre, but that's why -I- didn't care for it. Just my view.
I'll put it to you this way.... I don't like any music where the general consensus seems to be "you have to crank the volume up to appreciate it" as I've had numerous individuals tell me is true of metal. I like my eardrums the way they are.
That's just one small sub-genre of metal. Most metal doesn't sound like the 80s glam metal that Cinderella is. That's the beauty of Metal, there are just so many different styles: Industrial, Glam Metal, Black Metal, Death Metal, Nu-Metal, Rap-Metal, Power Metal, Classic Metal, Speed/Thrash Metal.
And people saying "I can't listen to metal because it's all just a bunch of noise and screaming" is one of my biggest pet peeves. Show me these only noise metal bands? Cause all the metal I listen to has a distinct melody, tone, and notes to their music. Saying that just shows your ignorance and indifference to the genre. I can understand if you just don't prefer metal, but don't say it's just a bunch of screaming and/or noise.
I could understand his resentment 20 years ago, but today? Come on, nowadays Megadeth is no doubt the better metal band. If I were him, I'd be ecstastic that I was in Megadeth rather than Metallica today. 20 years ago, it was a different story.
