The passing of Michael Martinez aka Mercury Art Studios.

Posted in Off Topic

Michael Martinez aka Mercury Art Studios was killed this weekend by a drunk driver in a head on collision. He is survived by his fiance and daughter. While I did not know Michael in person I did know him through Facebook, Ebay, and the Realm. And I am the proud owner of one of his Ultimate Thor's. He has been one of the customizer's that I looked up to. I'm new to this community and I'm still learning to perfect my skills by studying the works of exceptional customizers like Michael. His contributions to the Realm are numerous. I knew that when I saw what was new on the latest customs and I saw Mercury Art Studios I would not be let down by clicking that link. He has inspired me to be a better customizer and share more. This is a community for customizers. This is OUR community. One of our own has fallen. Michael, I salute you. RIP

It's always sad to hear when someone passes, especially when there 1 of us....I really enjoyed his work and it will be hard to not be able to see all the great things that were to come, my thoughts go out to your family/friends and I'm positive you'll be watching over are work and progression...R.I.P MercuryArtStudios

He was a master customizer! I have found a sort of peace in this hobby and could not have done so without people like him. Mercury Art Studios always brought a smile to my face. He will be greatly missed by many including this customizer. My heart and prayers are for his family. Maybe we could somehow make a figure of him and send it to his family. A sort of commemoraritive piece. If we all did it they'd be able to see the impact his great work had on us!
