So I have already primed and painted a scratchy silver look on the entire figure. I'm at the point of doing the red. My question is, what is the best way to do it? I have clear red Model Master paint that I could hand paint. But I've tried it before and it doesn't come out the way I want it to/have seen. I also have a spray clear red, but I'm unsure of how many coats to use or if it will glob too much. Any tips?
I tried doing this before and the paint didn't want to stay on the legs. I've rewashed it and even sanded the entire thing. I've used the sprays on the avenger walmart iron man and it looked great. I'll try just the spray then. Thank you very much , Dr. Nightmare. I'll let you know yhe results
From using Tamiya clear red, you have to smooth the paint very quickly if doing it by hand. Sort of like a spreading motion to get rid of brush strokes, then let it dry before adding more or else it tears up. It's a hassle, I recommend spraying or airbrushing until you get the desired shade.
Test spray paint on something else first to make sure it won't eat away at your base coat, spray paint tends to have chemicals like acetone that will wreck your acrylics.
