is acetone safe for striping paint in DC collectibles??

hi, i'm new here so i hope this is the right sub to ask this question. i just want to know is it okay to strip down paint using acetone on dc collectibles figures?? i heard that acetone is capable of melting plastic on some figure. so what did you guys recommend to strip down paint on DCC figures??

I use beauty sponges splashed with acetone, it's the fastest way I can think of. You have to take lots of quick swipes then rinse the acetone before it eats the plastic. It takes practice, but it works.

Also, you don't have to completely remove every little bit of paint if you're just going to primer or paint the area again, just get most of it off.
