Painting red

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hello guys, I need some help. I've tried painting red on a few figures of mine using Model Master Acryl Guards Red and it seems way to thin I've used other Model Master paints and have not had any issues but whenever I use the Guards Red it doesn't cover completely and looks streaky. Is this a color I need to mix, shake up better, lay a certain base coat or what? Seeing all the DeadPools, Spideys & Daredevils on here I know you guys know how to paint red! Lol
Thanks for your help!

I use Guards Red a lot, and what I've found works best is to first paint the area with Model Master Acryl Skin Tone Warm Tint, then paint the red on top of that. The Skin Tone covers really well and makes a great primer, and I use it for the skin color on most of my figures. Other than that, always make sure you stir up any paint really good before using it and you should be fine.

Thanks for the response! Yeah I've used one of the skin tone colors for Model Masters and I know that it does cover very well. Never tried painting over it but I might give it a shot. The first issue I had was painting the Cap WS legs and the red didn't seem to go on well and the most recent was painting a WWE torso and the red just looked thin even after shaking the heck out of the bottle. I'll give your suggestion a shot! Thanks again!
