Paint Rub on Hands

Posted in Custom Workstation

I'm planning on doing a custom that involves painting hands. However, I would also like the hands to hold objects, so I would imagine paint rub will be a problem. I just wanted to know if any of you had tips to prevent this from happening.

Yeah, what Anti said, coat the hands in super glue. And if possible, heat the hands when attaching items so they're more flexible.

As I mentioned just a few minutes ago to someone else, you can try using the brush on super glue and once it's dry go over it with a flat acrylic sealant (I prefer the spray variety as it gives much better results), as long as you've done the proper prep work and apply the paint in several thin layers it should give you a durable finish. Though really if you wash, sand, prime and paint properly I wouldn't think you should have a problem, the glue option is simply an added layer of security if in doubt. Other than that my only other suggestion you be find hands that are already the color you want for your figure.
