Casting Joints.

Posted in Custom Workstation

Okay, so I've been experimenting with casting joints for my figures to replace broken parts. The cast come out okay, but the problem is that they are so hard that they are somewhat brittle, and will break or snap if too much force or pressure is put on them. I'm using AlumiRes RC-3 casting resin. I've seen on another realmer's page that they used clear resin for a figures helmet, and said that even when ground thin, the cast was very strong.

Does anyone have experience or advice with this problem? I don't want to use parts for a commission that might snap when the user poses them.

P.S. I can't test how they hold up to the original joints, since I don't have any extras to spare.

Hi Jada. I wrote a reply to this with suggestions, but as it's a bit long, I'll send it in an IM. Good luck!
