me, Tear777

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

Greetings, I am Tear777. I just thought it would be polite for me to introduce myself. I have been head over heals in love with action figures since I was 6 years old. I mainly deal with 3 3/4 inch G.I. Joes and Star Wars action figures. My first action figure was 1985 G.I Joe Flint. Even as a child I would arrange my figures on a shelf when I was done playing with them, I was a collector from the start. I knew what G.I. Joes came with what accessories long before yojoe.com was there to help, in fact, before the civilian internet was.
I stumbled onto this community while searching for "action figure community". I had been pondering making a website for that very purpose. But now that I have found one, I am your citizen. I did notice that you need help with things. I am willing to help in any way I can. I know html, I have profesional ($400.00) web site building software. I know G.I. Joes (small ones) better than I do some people I know. I can take pictures of figures. I can help with website layout. I know people who do marvelous custom graffics. I am a experienced webmaster. I can grade action figures loose and in the package. And I am willing to invest myself into the right action figure community. I have always done what I could to help advance this still young (compared to other hobbies) hobby. Anyway, Thank you for having me. And I hope to get to know you all.

Come on Doc... there's got to be a couple figures in the line you like at least, even if you don't like Star Wars.

Alright Tear777, let's start with the organization idea. Are you referring to the forums? I'm up to creating new forum topics, arranging, modifying, whatever to create more interest. We've tried a few things different things in the past, but haven't succeeded in recruiting a large crowd to the forums.

The only reason there isn't a Joe section, is I just don't have the pics to create one, not to mention there are a LOT of them. If you want to help get one started, I'm game. I'd be happy to give you credit for the pics as you suggest.

I guess I'm going to have to take my anti-Star Wars attitude elsewhere seeing as how 75 percent of collectors love it so much...

Aome of my first action figures did include MOTU, and Thundercats, but I did not have the love for them like I did for Joes and Star Wars. I will take some pictures for you guys. My best qualities include organization of communities, such as this one. I think I would have the most fun doing something with the website, or at least being an advisor for the site. But, like I said, I am willing to do whatever needs to be done. If I end up becoming attached to this community, you will find my loyalty and servitude unmatched. As far as pictures go, I think it would be cool if the pictures I took had a little credit at the bottom, like, " From the collection of Tear777." Because, all of the pictures I would provide, would be from my personal collection or from my selling stock. I won't be giving you guys random pictures from the net, they will be of figures I own. Also, I realy am surprised that there is not a G.I. Joe section in the archives here. I am willing to help make one however, including pictures and write ups. Also, I am fareley known in the GI Joe world, I can get more people here, but I don't want to do that yet because there is no section for my people. I would say that GI Joe and Star Wars makes up 75% of the action figure collecting world. I see you do have a Star Wars section already, thats good. I have plenty of Star Wars figures that can be added to that. I have a sizable action figure collection to pull photos from. Thanks for the welcoming to this community, and I promise to be a valued member.

Welcome Tear777. I started with the original Star Wars and Joes myself. I'm surprised you didn't say MOTU also. I thought those were the core three for that era.

I definitely appreciate the offer for help, and I will take you up on it if you let me You seem to have a wide range of ability there. What area would enjoy working with? I think the biggest one that the collectors enjoy is the Galleries, so if you like taking pictures... And just in case you haven't seen the Galleries yet:

The point is to enjoy the work, so let me know what interests you the most.

*kicks the Cap where ever he is*

Don't let the amount of registered members fool you, this place is still beginning to start...that made sense right?...of course it did...

I do my part by writing reviews and throwing things at people. I'm fine and dandy like sour candy.
