Where did everyone go to? Remember the green Lantern boom, then it was yellow, red, blue and violet, orange and black too! And last of all white! Those were the days?
Cost is a problem. Fodder on eBay is extremely limited. If you are looking for the older Marvel legends and DC Classics, I pretty much have it. I know, everyone wants the newer figures and parts to go with em. If you are looking for older, you know where to find me.
Every time I get some money I throw it at some new figure or something. I'm not surprised about the lull myself. My brother said he wanted to get me an action figure one Christmas, but for one he didn't know who I had and who I didn't (this was before I started customizing and that mattered), then he saw the price tags. Not cool. I keep hoping prices will come down and make it easier on us.
But hey! I've been checking in a lot lately, so I'm cool to talk. I'm also working as fast as my time allows on some customs.
Yep, it's cheaper if you buy the most generic figures no one wants (Batroc, Hellcat, Radioactive Man, all the old DCUC figs with plain bodies, etc.) and sculpt any necessary details yourself. The sooner you get comfortable doing that the better off you'll be.

Considering how outrageously expensive toys are now though, especially if you just want to hack them up, I'm not surprised.
