Lacquer sprays?

Posted in Custom Workstation

Has anyone used Testors lacquer sprays on customs? I wanted a particular shade of yellow for a custom I'm planning, and Testors has one that's PERFECT, but only as a lacquer spray. I know Jin Saotome has used Tamiya lacquer sprays in some of his, and I don't see why this would be different, but it still felt like it'd be good. Has anyone used this? What was your opinion of it? Is there a difference in results if you're painting soft flexible parts like capes vs harder parts like bodies?

I've only ever used the dullcote from testors spray. But, I have used Tamiya lacquer sprays. they are quick drying and easy to use. Downsides- smells awful and can be harmful if you breath it in! so do it outside or in a well ventilated area...another downside is that you down have much control with the spray like you would an airbrush.

upside! if you follow the instructions when you spray, you will get a smooth durable finish! make sure to buy some tape. It's a lacquer though...so test the lacquer on a spare figure or fodder piece. make sure to do this with and without paint on the piece!

testors is a great company! so try one out!
