We've been cleaning up the contest ideas and i figured i'd make a discussion of this. I'm interested to know what themes y'all are into so we have a better idea of what to keep or axe, so chatter away.
Question: Do you like contests that require specific base figures?
For example, there was one that requires a NECA movie Batman, and that turns me off because I can't spare the 30 bucks to buy that fig to participate.
There was one that required funko pop figures, and while I'm not a fan of the style, I wouldn't mind giving that contest a try because the blank pops are sort of cheap. Would you enter it?
Question: How do you like specific themes?
There are some contest ideas like "indie video games" or "what if your grandma dressed like Colossus", and while I like contests that encourage wild submissions, i'm not sure stuff like that will draw entries.
If I had the figure and if I wanted to customize it and if I had an idea, then I'd enter the contest. But that's a lot of "ifs". I imagine the number of people who would meet all of those criteria would be quite low!
While I haven't entered any contests, due to my customization skills still needing to be developed more, I kinda think anything that's TOO specific, like the "NECA movie Batman base" or the "granny Colossus" (now a tranny Colossus contest is a bit more open ended and could result in some, uh, "interesting" entries I'd imagine, lol!) could easily be culled. The Funko Pop idea is fine since it's using the general toy line, and I wouldn't see any problems with a contest which stipulated a NECA figure as a base rather than a certain one.
Also, Tranny-saurus Colossus Rex contest is incoming lol
