Removing paint

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hey there guys! Newbie here again... Currently in the process of making a Red Hulk custom, but I did the mistake of settling for cheap art craft acrylic paint. The result was extremely uneven and no amount of layers would fix it, so I decided to start over. Now, in my experience, cheap acrylic paint is easy to remove. Just dip the figure in warm water for a little while and the paint peels right off effotlessly. The issue here is I primed the figure with white enamel acrylic spray paint. I still managed to remove most of the paint using the aforementioned method plus a toothbrush and my nails, however there's a lot of if left in the joints and indents. I haven't disassembled the figure yet to reach those spot a little bit easier, but also wouldn't mind a better way of removing the paint... I'm running out of nails and my fingers are getting sore...

You could also try dipping the parts in boiling water (heat the paint more) and using a toothpick to get into those harder to reach areas.

If the primer won't interfere with the paint you want to use, I would just sand the edges of those areas smooth, so even if theres stuff left over it won't show up when you paint again
