Which marvel line to collect?

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

Hi

I just got back into figures collecting and primarily I do monsters and spawn stuff but I also love Marvel comics a lot.
Looking at different lines, I am a little confused. Marvel select, marvel universe, marvel legends.... My head is spinning.
I like to collect 6 inch figures or close to that, I don't like the small ones. I also would like to have 1 spiderman, 1 iron-man and so on beside for specific variants (Like black costume for spiderman), what I mean is I don't need 72 spiderman figures!!!
I know that some rare figures will be available only by a line at a certain time and that's it, but for popular figures how shall I collect?

Thanks a lot

Patrick

If you're going to be customizing or collecting a ton go MLs and the other 6 inch lines just so you have more to work with. But if you were to ask me which let's say, Gambit is better: Marvel Select. It all comes down to how well done your favorite character/s are. If a particular line doesn't have that perfect Wolverine, customize it or go with what will make you the happiest. That way you can start there without being overwhelmed. Cheers.

Hi

I appreciate the answer, I found a couple of nice sites for Marvel legends figures and they are nice. I will start there. Marvel universe are too small for me.

Thanks again

Marvel Legends are all on the six inch scale and would be a good place to start your collection. Marvel Select is on the seven inch scale but many of the larger characters such as Watcher, Abomination, Thing, Beast, Hulks, etc will fit nicely with marvel legends and other six inch figures sense there sizes often varies in the comics. Marvel Universe is on the 3 3/4 scale but the large characters released special such as the frost giant, black golliath, sentinel, and gallactus will look pretty nice next to six inch figures and might be worth picking up for your collection. Also you might want to pick up some spider man classics, Fantastic Four, and Iron man figures which are all similar to marvel legends and will be in the same scale. There also are a handful of pre marvel legends toybiz figures that will fit with the six inch scale.
