Hey guys, this might be an obvious question to a lot of you guys, but whenever I shave around the double hinge for the elbow to prevent joint rub and put it back together, the arm ends up shorter, any idea on what I'm doing wrong? Am I shaving off too much? I basically shaved around the entire 2 circles that make the elbow joint.
The figure is the series 1 captain america, here is the pic of both of the elbow pieces I dremeled, the one on the left seems to be pretty good, but the one on the right makes the arm look shorter, am I doing this right? Is there a way to know where exactly to dremel? Thanks
Ah ok, so, I was wondering what the point of removing the hinge from the elbow is in the first place? Can I just use a round engraving bit, and grind down the visible areas of the hinge while it is still attached to the actual figure?
I don't know that you would be able to reach all the surface area you would need to grind down if you didn't disassemble the joint. What you could do is dremel the joint while still attached, then take it apart and carefully finish/smooth off those edges, just don't even touch the ends of the joint at all.

You don't shave that nub on the ends, that's what gives the joints the ratcheting action.
