Super thin thin layer of Apoxie Sculpt?

Posted in Custom Workstation

I'm working with a Jango Fett base for the torso and am trying to figure out the best way to add a ribbed texture to it. I like the neckline/henley closure as is. Basically, I adore the Kyle Katarn comic pack figure but can't quite make myself spend the $$$ that figure commands. I'm trying to mimic the ribbed look to his shirt but so far in my working with Apoxie sculpt, I haven't had a lot of success in rolling it super thin. My thinking is that if I can find a way to just get the thinnest of layers on the torso, I can then scrape away/in the ribbed lines. Any suggestions on the best way to go about this? (Or if you have Katarn fodder for less than $20... )

There's no need to roll it thin, just stick it onto the figure and mash it down with your finger until it's the thickness you want. Then add the ribbing with whatever tool you want.

Check my recent masked wrestler heads, that's all I did, shaved down their hair then mashed apoxie on them until it was thin and smooth. It's maybe 1mm thin.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
