Wasn't sure where to post this so I apologize if it's in the wrong section.
I'm starting on my first custom and I ran into a snag I haven't been able to find an answer to in any tutorial so far. I'm looking to take off the feet of these figures (Spider Woman and Vision) here:
Problem is every tutorial I've checked out for taking apart Marvel Legends doesn't deal with ankle joints like this. The peg for these are on the inside with no sign of them on the outside of the figure at all. Can anyone tell me how to deal with this or lead me to a tutorial showing how to do this? Thank you in advance.
So, I actually have to cut the rod holding the foot from one side to detach the foot? The rod did look like it was attached to the leg on both sides so I thought I was going to break it by heating it and trying to pop it off.
Guessing glue is the only way to make the rod work again? That's gonna be a pain to glue right and keep the articulation..
yeah, the rod is part of the leg itself, that's just how they're cast at the factory
all I can suggest is add the glue then slowly keep moving the joint until the glue hardens
alternately, you can try drilling a hole through the ankle then using a little screw to secure the parts together, maybe even a piece of toothpick and some glue

here's a tutorial showing some of that process http://www.figurerealm.com/customtutori ... view&id=70
To remove the hard discs the feet are attached to you have to cut one end of the rod holding it in there, then heat the area and pry the disc out.
