UPDATE I got the Dremel 3000 a while ago, it's corded.
The flexshaft is great! It's like holding a fat pen, you can be a lot more comfortable working on things. If you're into carving little details into figures, definitely get one.
The Dremel itself has okay weight and girth though. It's heavier than a cordless and about as thick.
I got a cordless Dremel almost three years ago and I know what you mean about the battery always being dead when you're ready to use it... and it just seems to discharge faster the older it gets. Mine is (or rather was) a two speed model, a couple of months ago the faster speed simply stopped working, not sure if it's the switch, motor or battery at fault.
Yeah, just like my rechargeable shaver and old cordless screwdriver, guess if the batteries lasted ten years how would the companies continue to profit, eh?
S'up doc.........Do not get the cordless dremel. It runs out of juice so much faster then it charges!!!!! But a good Black and Decker or Dremel should last a few years at least. But then again your are a master builder, I am sure yours get 10xs the work mine does!!!!!
