I also paint the black color on black color figure, because I think the SURFACE PRIMER will pretend my prep work ?

finally , I've read the tutorials again, I wonder that if I've done the prep (sanding and washing), after that , do I need paint the SURFACE PRIMER before I paint the figure ?

In my experience, honestly, not really. It mostly depends on what color the figure is and what color you want it to be. For example, I'm working on turning a Green Lantern into a Game of Thrones character right now, and really dark colors like black and green are hard to cover up without going back for a million coats of paint. Using a primer can help your paint coverage build faster.

I've paint surface primer before I'm paint.
Should I change other paint material ? For example Mr.color

And I don't understand the meaning of sealer.

Thanks for both bro answering

You should always clean it and sand it before priming. Here's a tutorial on sealing: http://www.figurerealm.com/customtutori ... view&id=16

Sealer is clear coat or "varnish" (acrylic only), a final clear layer to protect the paint from chipping and scratching. Hope that helps.

The paint doesn't matter that much, the prep work and your painting technique is what matters most.

However, there are some kinds of plastic that don't like paint, so the paint will never stick to it well.

If it's only a spot here and there, touch them up with fresh paint. If it's really bad, like chipping all over, use rubbing alcohol to remove it, and then prep it as DrNightmare describes. A good scrub with some dishwashing liquid and an electric toothbrush, then some fine sanding, will go a long, long way to a smoother and more durable paint app.

Wash the figures with dish soap before painting them, this way the paint will stick to the figure better. Dish soap removes grease and doesn't leave any perfume or cream that will affect painting.

Using fine sandpaper on the figure also helps paint stick to it.

Since you already painted the figure...try painting the spots that rubbed off, then use a sealer to protect the paint so at least the paint won't come off when you touch it.

We have a bunch of tutorials, though they're in English - http://www.figurerealm.com/customtutorial
