Sculpt around ball joints

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hi, I'm doing a custom by adding ball joints to the figure's hips. The problem is that the base figure's thighs don't go all the way up to the hips. I need to sculpt up in order to surround the ball joint. I'm worried about locking the ball in place once the epoxy putty hardens. Any solutions?

Thanks

I ended up putting vaseline on the ball and wiggled it every so often till the epoxy hardened. It ended up pretty loose, but I hope I can't tighten it with floor polish or super glue later. After the fact I got some additional advice to try wrapping the ball in plastic wrap instead - it would stay snug and not need jiggling as it dries.

I just thought epoxy may wouldn't stick to plastic with some grease between it...one experience more for you, hope you'll get a good result although
