One of many towers in the castle outpost on the edge of Mordor ( the place where Gollum lead Frodo and Sam to enter Sauron's kingdom )
21 foam boards ( 3/4 inch thick, 14 1/2 inch long, 11 inch wide ) with a hole cut out of the center and stacked to make the shape.
Center cut foam shaped into circular stairs.
Stone pattern.
2 coats of mod podge matte
spray painted with glossy black and gray primer.
guled in three sections ( fourth section ,the dome, was bought, not made) all four sections are held in place with magnets and nails, each magnet connects to a nail head except magnet on magnet on the dome, as it is much heavier then the rest so it needed to held tighter to help prevent it falling and becoming damaged.
Third layer ( roof that the dome attaches to ) has the center cut out in a rectangle shape and a piece of clear plastic piece from the center of a figure box sandwiched between layers of foam board with a light source to shine down from the inside.
2 panels for lighting and viewing where cut out of the side and the lower front. ( bottom panel hides the switches for 2 flickering tea lights, the effect looks like torches burnning in the lower level when looking into the front door of the display, but is to hard to get a good picture of it to show it off.
