This custom owes a lot to a lot of people who have tackled this character before, mainly Comicustoms and Magnuz over on The Fwoosh. It's a tried and true recipe, but I tried to put my own spin on it with some of the details. So when Hasbro finally gave us a Classic Taskmaster, it was a little bittersweet for me. I'm a big fan of the character, but there was a few things on that figure I didn't love. Mainly, the paint job of the head and the base body. Bucky Cap wasn't the worst possible choice for him, but I feel like a classic Taskmaster should be the same size as Classic Captain America. This conversation opens up the can of worms that, perhaps Cap is on the wrong body, but I'm working with what I have here! So being big fan of Magz and Comicustoms' Taskmaster customs, I got to work on one of my own. I even tried to steal one of Magz' poses, but he did it so much better than I did. Here's the base figure recipe: Head, Hood, Cape - Classic Taskmaster Chest, Shoulders, Upper Arms, Legs - Secret Wars Captain America Gloves, Boots - Red Guardian He has few weapons and belts and straps that are a mix of fodder and sculpt. I wish I could tell you where it all came from, but it's been so long (I've had this figure about 90% done on my work desk for months) that I forgot it. When I started the figure, the goal was to get as many of his weapons that I could possible get on him. Unfortunately with the plastic cape I couldn't give him the quiver I painted up for him, unless I wanted to put it on the outside of the cape, which I wasn't crazy about doing. Maybe on the next one I can give him his Bow and Arrow. ![]() |
