Where to begin...

I found this thing online over the summer and spent several weeks slowly restoring it. I’m not exactly sure WHAT this thing was originally (RC car? Model kit? Vintage toy?). It had a push and go type motor that made the turbine thrust in and out. Super weird!

The body had massive cracks and splits throughout and it looked like someone used acetone to take a giant sticker off the hood...and ended up melting the surface of the car in the process.

The entire body had to be resurfaced, epoxy’d, glued and painted. The fins were held on with screws so the seam needed to be filled and sanded. The interior was changed from chrome to black and the entire dashboard was reworked to incorporate lights (a black light bulb behind the monitor screen, one in the center console to illuminate the dashboard gauges and 15 fiber optic wires in various colors). Along with the head and tail lights the afterburner features 5 static red LEDs in a ring and one large red central LED that flickers. The flame piece was a mold of an old torch accessory that was cast in tinted epoxy and pegs into the central flickering light. The footwell has to carved out to allow legroom for the pictured 4” Multiverse 89 Batman and the seats had to be dropped down to the floor. They’re held in magnetically so it’s easy to tuck Batman’s cape under him and then drop him in - seat and all.

SO many coats of paint. SO many hours of polishing with a polymer mixture of my own recipe. SO many coats of turtle wax.

The guns flaps used to be on flimsy hinges and didn’t quite shut all the way. They needed to be reworked and the hinges eliminated. Now the lids are held on with small magnets and are reversible to reveal the guns.

I really could go on for pages and pages describing all the work that went into this thing.

The turbine tip is an old marker cap for Bats’ sake!

If anyone has any information on what this this originally was please message me! Enjoy!

Took awhile, but it turns out that it is a knockoff RC Batmobile produced in 2006 under the name Hero Chariot Arcane Thunderbolt Vanguard (look up bbrotherhoodofthebat runboard .com/t184695). BTW, awesome work. Sorry I didn't say so sooner. I was obsessed with cracking this little mystery.

This is pure perfection! Mattel should have made this for the dc multiverse 1989 figures. Would you be able to recreate this for me on commission? I would really love to have this in my collection. I love 3.75" action figure lines over all other sizes

Thanks! And, yes he fits perfectly in the seat (I think you can see his chest logo peaking through the windshield in some of the photos).
