This was 2 years on and off. I ended up sanding down and
resculpting the face and around the head. I also made some decals for his torso
and kept the rub sign. Taking him apart and putting him back was a pain. His
right arm broke while trying to find an arm cannon and had to be repaired as you
can see. I always wanted one of these as a kid which made me decide to go retro
on this custom. A great character seriously underplayed.

Thanks. That paint job was done first when I started2 or so years ago. I don't know what I did with the varnish to give it that look and make it last so long. As many times as I have transformed it, dropped it and rubbed it up against other items it hasn't flaked or peeled. I'm thinking it might be the plastic used back then. I have restored some worn paint on some of my collection from G1. If it is Hasbro needs to go back to using it.
